I remember them working on it when I was taking tours and stuff as a senior.

It just sucks that our union has been under construction for almost 4 years now - it was supposed to be finished in 1.5 years. They closed off the back entrance and now we have to walk through the area with all the crazy people handing out flyers or saying that I'm going to hell.
 
OSU's union is simply amazing. Under construction for the entirety of my ugrad and opened this fall.
 
Though the outside isn't really aesthetically appealing.... Its 2010... You would figure a project like that would involve more creativity than hundreds of feet of brick

I didn't really find much of OSU to be aesthetically appealing.

LSU used to have a really pretty campus until all the construction started. Now it's just crappy. And during football season they put up a bunch of barriers and stuff around all the grass and it just makes it uglier.

LOL YEAH! I heard about that place. I saw lots of pics on facebook a few years back. I personally would hate walking through there!

Snow day after 12, whoo. I wish it had been all day so I wouldn't have been penalized for missing class today. Seriously, this sickness is taking me down.

I dropped my laptop on my foot this morning. Which was good for my laptop, but bad for my foot.

someone save me. this endocrinology class is going to kill me.

The 45 year old lady who wont stop asking *****ic questions. The 22 year old "Dr." who hasn't even taken the MCAT yet but "Will probably get like a 36" yet asks questions ALMOST as *****ic as the 45 year old.

The fact that we just had a 20 min lecture on what an invertebrate is including follow up questions like "Do I need a login for pubmed" and "Are mice an invertebrate" and "Can we do behavior of a mammal?"
No, No, No! BLAHHH

I know exactly what you mean. I have had some really cool old people in some of my classes, but also some exactly as you describe.
 
Hey all, I've lurked around for quite a while but am now leaping into new territory and posting a bit.

Unlike some lucky folks I live on a campus with robo-professors who I'm pretty sure cross country ski here just to not cancel class. Enjoy your days off though!

We've also got a ton of snow, but people here, including the professors and administrators, are completely used to it, so a foot and a half of snow does not a snow day make. 🙁

Yeah, it survived. It only fell like two feet and the corner kind of bounced off my foot. I managed to catch it before it hit the ground after that, so it didn't have any massive impact with anything. I have a nice cut and bruise on my foot now though

Do you go to U of I? I'm pretty sure they almost never cancel class there... Cambus will always get you around Iowa City! I was on one with a tornado less than a mile away... :scared:
 
I'm actually at another small college in Iowa, but here everything is close enough to walk for the students, so we can just keep on going to class through rain, sleet, snow or hail. Oddly enough, our mail can be late on bad weather days...
 
Classes canceled today because of snow! I slept in until...2 pm. I am now leisurely enjoying a breakfast sandwich I made and coffee.

This is like every other day in front of our library. There's also a strong gay population at my school so things can get really heated sometimes.

This must be a big state school thing. Someone at one of my interviews mentioned a similar issue. I've never seen stuff like that, we did for a while have like a "peace circle" where people would play instruments and take breaks to read names of fallen soldies..but I don't see it around any more. Noone ever told me or anyone I know that we are going to hell lol

Nice, I'm also at a small liberal arts college in Iowa, still considering UIowa for med school. It's a pretty great school, I just have this urge to leave the state after 22 years of living here. 😛

I get told (or yelled at) that I'm sinful on a pretty regular basis. Sometimes they're just doing regular preaching, and other times, they can be flat-out rude. Either way, they can say whatever they want. Most people just shrug it off.
