Haha, me too! But as of this week, I have heard from every school, so no more contact until the schools I'm waitlisted at decide to talk to me.

Dingy, I totally know who you are. We interviewed together at FIU. We had the same interviewers, even. I was accepted there, but eventually declined... way too expensive for an OOSer!

At this point I am only waitlisted at one other school and I wouldn't go there anyhow.

Yep! 🙂 FIU was very nice. The people there were very friendly, enthusiastic, and excited about the school. I have no doubt that they will be great someday!

Where do you think you'll end up going?

yea i loved how friendly their ppl were. i'm down to case western and U miami right now, and like you, ill probably decide after all the finaid stuff are done.

oh, and you're welcome to post here more often, we can commiserate much better than the non premeds :laugh:

It's definitely March 15th, that's why so many schools wait until after that date to assign merit aid, to see who they're competing against.

(UCSD seems to be the least transparent of all in their admissions process, though. They tell you the exact day and time of day to expect phone calls/emails. You can even call in on the friday before the meeting to see if you're being reviewed. I REALLY appreciate that about them!)

got new running shoes this afternoon. the store i went to was awesome-they measure your feet super carefully then watch you walk and bring out a million pairs for you to compare. apparantly i'm a pronator and didn't have enough inside support in my old sneakers. they even let you run outside in the parking lot to see how they feel! i also got sushi for dinner yummm🙂

hahaha yeah they have some issues with wording, but basically, I read it as even if you're on a waitlist at school X, school X can see that you have acceptances at school Y, Z, and A in April

wow i almost threw up reading this...what is wrong with some people!? this crazy church is planning on picketing the virginia tech tragedy near the date of the anniversary in a couple weeks, saying that we were at fault. this is an excerpt:

"God is cursing you by killing those same children that you have lied to all their lives. VA Tech was just GodSmacked -- another of your students murdered -- and you still refuse to heed and obey the standards of God."

we deserved what happened to us?!!🙁 i'm all for people practicing whatever religion they want, but this is over the line.

:laugh: You're right... I didn't read it that closely. It makes sense now. Those dates are totally different from what schools told me at interview days, which is weird. Oh well, I pretty much assumed they all saw everything anyway, so that's fine. 😛

I don't use the f word that often, but when I do, that means it's serious. This is ****ing disgusting and I hope one day they realize they're embracing nothing but hate.
 
the westboro baptist church is notorious for doing that kind of stuff. they are absolutely ridiculous. i hate it when the mainstream media legitimizes what they do by paying attention to them. just ignore them and they have no power

these people aren't truly religious, they just believe those things to make themselves feel better, to justify why they're special and deserving to live and be saved.

I like what they did at the University of Illinois -- when the WBC showed up there, some students set up shop across from them and organized a fundraiser so people could donate to charities that the WBC was protesting against. They could even donate in honor of the Westboro Baptist Church and get "thank you" letters sent to its founder.

So they basically took the publicity that the WBC was going to get anyway and decided to turn it into a positive for those charities. Pretty cool

Ugh, they're back again? They tried to provide "counseling" services directly after the tragedy, but were greatly opposed and "changed their plans." Some people just never learn.
