Dog skull anatomy. Wanna trade?
That is an awful offer.
Dog skull anatomy. Wanna trade?
Dog skull anatomy. Wanna trade?
We did that already last semester haha..so yes 😉.

No... not what she meant. Anatomy is a 1.5 semester class (or 3 quarters if you like)... First semester focuses on body. Winter quarter focuses on dog head, then horse head, finally 2 days of chicken. No anatomy in Spring quarter (a cause for celebration for most). That's its own class over there? Wow.

You will come to love those holes. Life is much easier if you pretty much memorize them all and what goes in/out of them. What SOV said. We're also doing the spinal column and, for some reason, the heart. Today was skulls, though, so my poor flabby brain is spinning with processes and foramina.

Envious...we start back school on Monday, and have a whoooole semester of large animal anatomy, yippee.
I've been enjoying break a little too much and it's going to be a rather painful wake up call on Monday morning. Wait...take notes? Like to learn stuff??
This semester is composed of finishing up our Musculoskeletal block, Neurology/Senses/Behavior, GI/Metabolism, and end the year with Nutrition/Toxicology. The professor that I had the hardest time learning from in the last couple blocks is the block leader for Neurology. I'm a little nervous about that one.
Forward, march!.....left right left right left right left right

There are some people who are like going through material several times a day after class.
Seriously, we've been back for 2 days and it's been probably at least half review of things we learned before the break and I'm left wondering what I did during the break to occupy the brain cells which should have had this material on lockdown. And as for everyone else out there good luck-- and Elliegirl I'm impressed you guys have club meetings that early, I don't think we'd have many operating clubs if that were the case- most of ours still try to lure us in with the promise of a free meal.

YES. Don't worry, though. Besides the 1-2 folks who most commonly speak up in lecture - the rest of the class is feeling the same way from the conversations I was hearing all day.
I am still sitting here trying to determine what neurological condition I have that has caused me to forget everything I learned in the first semester...😕
Interesting. I wish our anatomy course had been about that length. One semester felt just a bit too condensed.
You do anatomy of dog, horse, and ruminant in one semester? I thought 3/4 was the shortest time I've heard. Penn used to be one semester years ago. I can't imagine. I guess unless fewer credits were taken at the same time.
I wanted to kill myself with the other classes first semester. Stupid biochem and histo and 10mm pig. Thank god I had bunnity as a lab partner 😀
That is definitely an interesting way to do anatomy. We're in large animal right now, but our entire last test of this class is over birds/reptiles/etc. Breenie and I are in the same lab group though, so it's been pretty great so far.
I can definitely say that I still look forward to class every day, but I do not look forward to each individual lecture. The drive to school is becoming monotonous as well. Today alone I drove to/from campus 3 times. Maybe I should look into hiring a chauffeur?
This block is supposed to be the "hardest", and I can see how it is draining. There's a lot going on, and it seems like we hardly see sunlight, so that doesn't help much. Just 6 and a half more weeks!!
gahhh definitely not a fan of the whole class from 8-12 and lab from 1-4 thing. learning in the morning?? what is this?? not to mention staying awake...
Parasitology test coming up this week. Eek!
Canadian Vet Journal published the Class of 2015 class photos for the five schools in December's issue. 🙂
👍👍 Yay!!Went to Mizzou's dairy farm today for a quite literal palpation wetlab. Best day ever!! I even learned how to use an ultrasound, and I found a little baby, its amnion, and the corpus luteum!
👎 Not the soul!!!!!! Best of luckCurrently attempting to study for Monday's Pathology/Immunology exam and slowly losing my soul at the same time =(
Exams are looming and I'm sick of studying already. I want my life back! Just one more anatomy exam and we're done with that class. Raise your hand if you're ready for spring break.
3+ exams/week here.
BOOM. ONE UPPED.
Just kidding. It kinda doesn't matter how many there are. My stress level seems to be about the same, regardless of what sort crazy crap they throw at us.
In other news, I'm about to finish up some studying, and then I'm taking the rest of the night off with the boy to play some video games and just hang out since we haven't done that in over a week (and we live together!!). Hopefully it will help make tomorrow a little more bearable.
Sounds awesome, scb44f!!! Hope it helps you get better!
immuno more or less picked me up, tossed me against the wall a few times, stomped on me, performed invasive probing, and walked away laughing.
Next week ------- no exams. Zilch. It'll be such a breath of fresh air.
