Okay, I'm not even going to post my facedouble results because I am clearly VERY black and got Pamela Anderson as a match (and no, I do not look anything like her).

I took a really great practice exam right before the real thing, and I honestly just didn't want to take any more because I felt so confident - I think that's what helped on test day in the end.

Honestly, I think I'd probably get a PhD. I'm really interested in academic medicine anyway, so it's not really a stretch. I'm going the MD route because I love seeing patients and feel like teaching/research would always be secondary to me. If I went the PhD route I'd probably do it within a med school so I could still be a med school professor.

Fire Fighter/Paramedic because I love to be out in the community and helping people face to face. I can also cook some awesome chillie 🙂

Haha, can't crash 🙁 Got a possible doctors appointment and work meeting on friday, then I actually have to go to volunteering (haven't been in forever, can't stand most of the people, love the job though), then got to do a ton of stupid microbio labs, study for another quiz or two, do stupid online book responses, work on posters...I want a day to sleep a lot
 
hey from the looks of it alot of the people who took/are taking jan/march mcat are gonna be the people applying for the fall '11 cycle. Im in detroit, and applying, and set up a mtg with a adcom member at Wayne State School of Medicine on thurs pm.

if u guys have any questions/issues that u wanted a perspective on just throw em out and ill bring them up.

im basically planning on explaining my file and figuring out the best approach to apply and what not.

If I wasn't going into medicine or anything similar (either some kind of mid-level or a PhD in a medical lab), I would probably either go into real estate in some way, or get into video game programming. I love video games but I don't think I have the skill to design characters or levels or write scripts or storylines so I'd probably go the coding route.
 
So, uh... a new friend of mine's father is on the adcom at my first choice school. She mentioned this to me with a bit of a wink. I didn't know what to say, so I just told her I really hope to meet him later this year. I certainly want to get in on my own merit, but I don't think I would tell her not to put in a good word for me. Does that make me a bad person? 😳

nah u cant think like that, something like that is just fortuitous, and if you've got a connection like that, more power to u. I highly doubt a med school is going to let you in simply because there's a good word from an adcom member's daughter. You've gotta be qualified either way, it just might help give you that extra edge or attention that your file might need. either way its still on your merit.

Agreed. I think it might help you get selected for an interview, but you still have to sell it.
 
i'd probably go into acting and or film making, and ofcourse take over my parents businesses to actually make money...

RPGs, primarily. I love everything I've played by Bioware (Mass Effect is just the tops). I also love the Guitar Hero series. RIght now I'm being nostalgic and playing GTA 3.
 
awesome 😀 I just started playing the first mass effect right now and its amazing....i'm more of an RTS/FPS kind of dude tho, starcraft, CSS, tf2.. im also a sucker for super smash bros melee, it was my first love 😍

Haha, nah. I like video games too. Silent Hill, resident evil, modern warfare, logic like games, rainbow 6 (i think that's it), and more like those.

BTW MB, Just watched V for Vendetta in one of my classes haha

Thats awesome! what class would that be? poli sci? philosophy? What i love most about the movie is the main character V. such a rich character.

I love Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Dead space and Fear were pretty trippy too.

i used to play video games all the time in high school,
(hence Mr. Lance Vance Dance <-----)

i still play once in a while, but hardly ever really. Must say though, i never realized what i was missing till i put the controlller down.

Mass Effect is awesome. What class are you playing?

I just finished ME2 a week or two ago. SO damn awesome, and I made it out with my entire team. Woot!

there are a few i hhope i never have to use. unless im describing some situation. for ex. First post to kirby made her :barf: she got pissed off and destroyed my life :boom: now i have to survive off :spam:
 
The geek squad as emerged! Admittedly, if I had an XBOX 360 I'd be in the same boat, but I just can't break down and do it because something else would suffer haha. For now I just stick to playing at my friends. We had been on a Borderlands kick. He beat Mass Effect 2. And we STAY on FIFA.

LOL! I'll be a shoe-in.

Soldier's not bad. My husband's main character is one. Adepts are awesome in ME1 but they got a little nerfed in ME2 because a lot of biotic powers don't work if a baddie has armor and/or shields up.

I've played both games as a Vanguard, which is a beast. I'm about halfway through another playthough of ME1 as an infiltrator, which I'm going to keep as an infiltrator when I carry her over to ME2, and I'm playing an Adept (with an assault rifle, you can unlock talents for other characters from characters you've already played) that I will make a Sentinel when I carry her over. Sentinels got seriously buffed for ME2, IMO.

Yea? I could try it out haha. Best logic game: Myst, massive headache but interesting/creepy


It was in a class called Civic Engagement. It's a class about being involved in the community, exercising your rights as a citizen, etc..

i'm going to try to take a bit of a hiatus from sdn till the mcat, it prob won't work out, but it's worth a shot

Skiing I'm super interested in, snowboarding kinda. Figure skating is really interesting. Pretty much, I like most winter events from either an entertainment or an "I do this too" standpoint. The only exception is luge. I don't give a crap about luge. Haha. I hate all the media stuff around it -- I just want to watch the events!

I'm all about Cool Runnings... that's about it. Skiing is exciting to watch though.

No interest at all. I dont find the olympics in general all that fascinating. I like summer more then winter but still almost just as non interested.

One not so good test grade shouldn't be too hard to bounce back from. Don't stress just move on.
