it seriously is. I think its only america that doesnt use it. the rest of the world uses metric. there might be a few rando's that use the imperial system like u guys

cuz she can do stuff real good there

Haha! Well, almost all of my family lives there, I was born at one of their hospitals, one of their trained residents saved my sister's life, I have friends there, I've followed a lot of their procedures done there, they helped my grandmother live a better life, helped my uncle with his diabetes before he passed away a few years ago (hole in his heart 🙁), and the list goes on and on....

The only realization that occurred to me tonight is I need to get out of the south. I'm dying to get to a place where people are actually people again. It's too much to explain in a post. Ohhh well...

you sound inebriated

Hey now.

Sorry guys, I"m not a person 🙁

Haha GoSpursGo you are the exception! I thought that was a known fact when I posted.

The fact of the matter is I just need a change of scenery. I've always felt/known that the northeast is where I belong. No offense is intended to any southerners.

Man, it's almost time to schedule classes for Fall, what to take....ugh

I think he's in a particularly pensive mood tonight.

I saw The Blind Side today and everyone seemed really chill.

I obviously just can not catch a break on SDN tonight.

What about the west coast msb? Midwest? The US is veryyyy large and offers many options.

What about it FloatOn? I've been to all parts of the US and I find that the northeast fits me best. I don't appreciate one part of the country (or the people there) over another, I just know where I would like to be.

Yea...I would like to stay on the east coast myself

 I want to be in the NE too. I just wonder what it'll be like if I matched for residency in an area that I'm not too fond of, like if it's ok if I only applied to programs in VA and north of that.

Artimacia, headsup, you almost have 1000 posts.

Hmmm... on the one hand, living in the south is frustrating if you're liberal (at least it is where I am right now)... but on the other hand warmth and friendly people are nice.

I'd love to live in the NE but I hate the cold.

I figure I'll apply all over the place and let the med schools (and the money) decide.

Yay! (Almost two years later...)

I was pretty excited when I reached 1000. Then I realized how easy it is to up your post count when you have conversations in class threads like this one.

From what I've experienced, people are more friendly in the South! I think it's because they're not always in a rush and so in your face like in the NE. Nonetheless, I would love to live in NYC or Boston.

I've been everywhere in the US, save the North East and yet I still feel the same way... we'll see what sort of feelings I get at interviews this year =).

I don't think I would fit in New York, though. I am also starting to think that U of CO, if I really can get in-state there, too, would be the best fit for me.

NYC's a little much for me, but I'd love to live in Boston. I don't know what it is about NYC, but I always feel just a little bit claustrophobic when I'm there. Love to visit, hate to live there.

Philadelphia's also a viable option (reason #239847984 why class of 2015 is gonna part in philly together).

I used to live outside Philly but all I remember were rude people 🙁 Maybe I just didn't notice much since I was little. I've lived in a lot of southern areas and they're generally nice (met really nice people in new mexico too!)

I love good food, having endless options for entertainment, and diverse group of people. NYC just seems like the place to be.

Never been to Philly, so I can't comment on that.

I guess the youngins are all asleep. Time for me too. Good night to all, whoever's still out there!

Philly's decent. I've lived here my whole life but I've never been much for going out. My favorite thing about it is how centrally located it is. NYC and Baltimore/DC aren't more than a few hours drive, the Jersey shore is 1 to 2 hours away, etc. Plus, we have lots of good stuff here. There are lots of good malls, we have all 4 sports teams, great museums, performing arts, and so on.

We want to stay in Philly because it's where almost all of our family and friends are. I'm still applying to a few other nearby states, though, and depending on my MCAT score, I might throw my app at UCSF, too, just because that area would be GREAT for my husband's career goals.

HAHAHAH! I won't even comment on that trainwreck. But I WILL say that most of that show is filmed in northern New Jersey. I've always gone to Atlantic City or points south (Ocean City, Cape May, Wildwood, etc.).

AC is great because the beach is free. My family goes down for the day, valet parks at one of the casinos right on the beach (it's like $5), no beach tags, and if you say you're staying at one of the hotels (my car is, anyway!) they'll give you a beach umbrella.

Ocean City is nice, we used to go down there a lot before my mom fell in love with Cape May. Cape May is beautiful, lots of Victorian buildings, a few big seafood restaurants and some whale watching boats, too. I really like it there.

Wildwood is fun because the beach is HUGE and they have a big boardwalk and some entertainment piers with rides (including roller coasters) and water parks.

k so i don't watch reality shows (i don't get it...why are we interested? they aren't celebrities...) and so when JS came on i was clueless as to its existence and what it was about.

all of a sudden people started calling others guido-this, guidette-that, and i was like wtf? kind of the offensive word for italians....and they were like no, no, it's okay, they say it in JS. :eyebrow: really, MTV? and then i watched an episode, and i had that face, for like, 4:59 out of the 5:00 i watched.

gym. tan. laundry.

GTA baby gta

lawl. i have a few "guido" friends but they are not this intense...not even close really. and over here we call them gino's and ginas. i wonder why that is...

I don't know how I'm going to survive with three labs next semester... they're easy labs, but I get so distracted when I do labs. (like right now)

Kinda humorous: I'll be in freshman bio lab next semester and I may end up needing to take a freshman or another english class.

I know what you mean. After I graduate in June I'm going to have to take a 2nd english class (long story). The way my university works with its writing sequence they won't let me in the class b/c it is for freshman only so I'm going to take it at a cc. Very lame.

Im going to try to lead that list!!!! 3.8 GPA and taking the MCAT in May!!!!

It was suggested to me that I should apply to TA that biology course in place of taking it for credit -- I've already TA'd, taken higher-level bio labs, and do independent research, so I was told there would be a good shot.

The english requirement though.. sad face! For colorado, I need to make sure my school lists 9 credits of english for my AP classes and for about half of my list, I may need to take another 3 credits at college because they don't accept AP!

wut?

i almost had to retake gen bio and gen chem this coming year for UMASS, but thank god they're flexible

Let's see...I think I'm gonna take evolutionary biology, honors contagious disease and human populations, hemotology and hemestasis, and maybe an internship or something. I would only have class Monday and Wednesday 😀
