Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congrats everyone! I'm in the boat with all those that have not heard anything... but that's to be expected when I had my first interview on October 15 😀

I've been stalking SDN/this thread for the past few days on my phone, but it's good to be back reading something bigger than size 0.2 font.

This. When I get into medical school, I will be making a donation to SDN for the wealth of information I've gotten here. If only I had found this site earlier! *sigh* Haha.

Same here! Haven't heard anything but realistically expecting a decision in the next couple of weeks! Hopefully next week!

Yay daisy how was it?

I just woke up from a dream where I got into Yale.

Waking up has never been so miserable.

ACCEPTED!! :highfive:

Congrats to everyone else! and to those still waiting, it'll come so soon!!!

I can officially post in here now without worrying about whether or not I'll end up posting in the Class of 2016 thread also!

Got my first acceptance this morning, and got my little gold badge just a few minutes ago. 🙂. Congratulations to everyone else who's heard back, and those who haven't, hang in there!

Congrats to everyone, and let's hope Monday brings more awesome news!

Lovely state of CA, why are your medical schools so slow with acceptances?

So, I should be at the car dealership right now playing on SDN while I wait two hours for them to fix my side-view mirror and door chime.

Instead....lack of said door chime made me leave my headlights on last night and now my car is dead.

So I am waiting for AAA to come jump me (because there is no way another car can get close enough to my car where it is parked to jump me) and THEN I will go to the dealership and wait again.

Today blows.

that is the biggest complaint about my car is there isnt a door chime, so i leave my lights on more than i should.

Look at it this way: rubber band effect says you have good news coming 🙂

^ LOL you upgraded to that "medical student" status pretty quick.

I know I said this last night but I need to word-vomit it again. One of two things happened:

1. My file didn't go to committee yet, because my interviewer didn't attend any of the ones that were held between my interview and the 15th, which I'm guessing is three (I read they do them on Thursdays).

2. I was accepted and they called either my land line or my old cell phone number that were originally on my AMCAS. They have both been cancelled by I updated it awhile ago with my new cell phone number, but like Cougs pointed out to me last night, I have no idea if they have a printed copy of my stuff they keep around from before I updated it that has my old info.

I can't decide which annoys me more. Though at least I can say if I was rejected or waitlisted already I would have just gotten the email, so I guess that counts for something.

Also, Cougs, I'm so sorry. Hopefully that means you have an acceptance coming this week to balance it out. 😀

Hahaha, I like the way you guys all think😉

And hopefully that means I would have gotten a WL or rejection email from them too!

Is it weird that I am much more mad for you than I am for me? I didn't really expect to hear from them though. But you damn well should have!!!

I agree with Geeks. You definitely have an acceptance coming soon, with that bad luck.

Geekmama, at least you (sort of?) know that you're in? I hope there's a call for you soon. Jeff doesn't really have online notification, right?

Congratulations to everyone that has gotten in already!👍 Everyone else, fingers crossed. It's early days yet, we'll all be fine.

I think that if they tried to call a number that was disconnected they would look your file up to verify it was the most recent.

I bet it takes a long time to call that many people. Maybe they will finish those acceptance phone calls on Monday :luck:.

I hope your interview went well!! I want to hear all about it🙂

Ok, for those of you in this thread that are bummed today..who would like to hear my super secret embarrassing interview story guaranteed to make you feel better about yourself? I need a certain number of votes before I'll tell it.

Edit: You are only allowed to make fun of me for one day after telling this story.

I am bummed today because it is too cold and a little bit rainy, and I have no jacket/umbrella and am wearing flip-flops because I thought the random weather patterns would be in my favor. Not as miserable as medical school anxiousness though.

I'll still vote though! 😀

Congrats to all the recent acceptances! 👍

hmmm..... I vote yes. I would like to hear the chapter from Coug's Adventures and other fairly sordid tales 👍

hi yall 🙂 just thought id pop my head in here and join the ranks of 2015! got accepted!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Ok. Here is the story.

So, I drink a lot of water. Which of course means that I pee a lot. So, before an interview, after I walked into the building, before going to admissions, I stopped in at the bathroom.

So, I do my business, and I flush....and the water comes SPRAYING up at me. Like....gushing. My face and neck were drenched. I reared back, hitting the door of the stall, and then realized that at that angle, the water was starting to drip down my neck onto my suit. So I leaned back over the toilet. So there I was.... standing there dripping, trying to lean forward so that my clothes wouldn't get wet, and, also, trying not to screech audibly with how grossed out I was.

So....I was a good little pre-med....and I sucked it up. I got a bunch of toilet paper, and wiped myself off. Then I took the purel out of my purse and purel-d my face and neck and hands. All of this in the stall, because I knew there were other interviewees at the mirror in the bathroom and I didn't want them to see me all wet and wonder what the hell happened.

Then I went out, fixed my makeup, and went to my interview. And all day long, all I could think was how disgusting I felt, and that I couldn't wait to take a shower.

Ok, go ahead and laugh.

that is something you should've shared with your interviewees/interviewers and laughed about! if you make the interviewers laugh you're a lock!

I would give you instant acceptance for being such a trooper and not being a "girl" about it... Haha. I would feel pretty gross though. Also, major props for being able to fix your makeup well enough so that it wasn't noticeable. Pretty sure if it happened to me, I'd end up with raccoon eyes, looking like a crackhead.

Waterproof mascara is THE BOMB🙂

We need an icebreaker question. I think everyone else should have to post an embarrassing story now too🙂

I'm game for embarrassing stories...

None from interviews, but here's one from when I was about 4:

My family went on a vacation to Disney World and one night we decided to go to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, which is this really campy hillbilly-ish type live dinner show with sing-alongs, etc. It was an all you can eat dinner with fried chicken, corn, etc.

Well, they brought out the food and my mom put some on my plate. Everyone else was distracted by other things going on, but I quickly gobbled up my food. Then my dad turns around and, thinking my mom hadn't gotten to me yet, loaded up my plate of food again. I gobbled that up too. And then later I ate dessert when they brought that out.

That's a lot of food for a four year old. Too much. On the bus ride back to our resort, I, the reigning "barf queen" of our family road trips, start to say I don't feel very good. My parents, knowing what this means, quickly ask if the bus driver can pull over so I can hurl outside. Well, being the nice Disney employee that he is, he obliges. Unfortunately it wasn't soon enough. I barfed in the aisle of the bus on the way to the door. Also, I then proceeded to barf all over the stairs in the exit of the bus.

The bus driver had to radio another driver for a new bus so that we could transfer everyone to a clean, barf-free bus.

My dad likes to joke that that bus was permanently abandoned and is still rusting out on Disney property somewhere.
