WTF is wrong with Chipotle? Hopefully you're not a fan of Qodoba.

I like Qodoba as Chilpotle alternative. It is good in its own ways. The chicken has more flavor..

I love both Chipotle and Qdoba, but Qdoba is better because it has mole sauce and mango salsa (even though I have to pick the cilantro out of the mango salsa). Also it has bomb quesadillas. The best, though, is a local Colorado chain called Illegal Pete's, which is the best because it mixes the burrito ingredients before wrapping up the burrito! So you don't just get one bite of all rice and tortilla.

Chipotle does that too! You just ask them before they wrap it up and viola! Mixed burrito! But sometimes they give you dirty looks if you ask...common guys, like it really makes your life that much more difficult..

Hahahah of course you would. I've decided that I am being grossly unproductive in this laboratory today. I figure it's early still, time to get my sun on maybe?

I get to go be unproductive for an hour while I eat my lunch. See ya in a bit!

Why do you think we keep you and bookfreak around. :meanie:

Don't be intimidated... we keep bookfreak locked up in a drawer. We let her out once in a while and give her reign of the thread.

You make me sound like some sort of animal.

Also, ice cream is definitely better than froyo, because there is more fat and sugar. I do love Coldstone, but it isn't my favorite. There was this amazing ice cream shop in Georgetown called T. Sweet's (I think Thomas Sweet's was the real name) that had baller ice cream and mix-ins, way better than Coldstone's. And my friend went to NC State for a couple years, so I visited her once or twice. They have a dairy on campus and make the richest, most amazing full-fat ice cream ever. Soooo good. I'm drooling just thinking about it. 😍

Now I know we have to be best friends. There is a T-Sweets that was a 5-minute walk from my undergrad as well. They would give us all sorts of coupons and discounts! 😍 Their ice cream was phenomenal. They also serve shakes, but I like their ice cream better.

I need to take my brother to the DMV. Luckily, I don't have to stand in line with him. Muhahaha.

OMG I didn't even know there were T. Sweets other places! That gives me great happies. 😍 Okay, let's have a Zelda tournament and then go have some ice cream at T. Sweet's.

The most important distinction is that Qdoba has queso. WHAT SELF-RESPECTING "MEXICAN" EATERY DOESN'T HAVE MELTED CHEESE??

I am! 😀

Finally.

I hope so! I cut out some stuff but I'm still like 300 characters over, and I'm working on some stuff for a poster that's due at the end of the week.

Yay for both of you! It'll feel so awesome, like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. 😀

Also, bookfreak, I looked up T. Sweet's and since there aren't many locations, I know of only two places you could have gone to undergrad. :meanie:

Yay!

But you are an animal!!!!!!

:meanie:

PS. I effin hate the DMV... with all my being.

They annoy me so much.

+1

Yeah, I figured as much. You still don't know which one! :meanie:

Morning everyone, I spent all night (well really kinda just a little under an hour) trying to fix up my primary before I really bunker down and attack my PS. Didn't work out so well as I'm 14 ECs in and still have some manipulating to do to include everything i want to include. Ugh this app is stressing me out, i have no idea what secondaries are going to do to me.

And I've never heard of red mango is it similar to orange julius? Ice cream shops ftw!

I may catch a lot of flak from the people already engaged in the process of completing secondaries, but I have to imagine it's better/easier than primaries. Seems like (for the most part) there's more guidance on what you should specifically mention, and the knowledge that you've been invited to supply such information by ACTUAL MEDICAL SCHOOLS should give you the little burst of exhilaration you need to power through. Meh, that's what I'm hoping at least.

It's true, for the most part. Secondary prompts are more directed and shorter, though sometimes more numerous. You'll also feel like you're covering the same topics repeatedly, but there's no escaping that.

But then there are the questions that ask, "Is there anything else you'd like us to know?" and you start to panic all over again.

I tend to view these as a courtesy and not an expectation. Unless I feel I have something to gain by addressing the "Why ____ University SoM" question in the "anything else" essay, I plan on leaving it blank.

you don't say...

But seriously... If there's anything else you'd like us to know questions get answered as such...

"i'm hardworking, i believe in community bla bla bla, and i love your school and think we would mesh well together bla bla bla, take me!"

twss! :d

I asked this on FB chat the other day, but for those who weren't there, is anyone including a "hobbies" activity on your primary app? I discussed some of my main hobbies in my PS, but some I didn't include. My activities list is already kind of light (I've got 7), so would this be a good idea, or just redundant?

Me too, I've got to finish this episode of HIMYM and then finish my app!

OMG YES GREATEST SHOW EVER.

It's a hard call - yea primaries are one of the most difficult things ever descended upon unsuspecting premedical students, but secondaries have the own mystique that brings a real and specific means to the application. When you do your secondaries, you realize "Holy cow! The committee is reading this ACTUAL form that is specific to THEIR university." You need real research, real specific information and appropriate responses. Suddenly the process is real. :scared: HOLY DAMN. You can't just throw in the old "to help people" routine on a secondary app...you need to meticulously weave in the school motto, specifics, etc.
It aint easy!

:
oooo ouch!

Yea that's what he probably said because I assume the process hurt him!

Do it to it. Show the adcoms you're a real person.

My previous comment order is as follows:

Make sure that you ad things that you normally wouldn't realize matter like Dean's list, scholarships, honors program, etc.

👍 Will do.

Yeah, I've got an activity that's titled "academic achievements" or something that has Dean's List, PBK, and my school scholarship. Should I include my state scholarship (It's pretty selective, you must be top 3% of ACT scores)? In Missouri it would be well-known, but for colleges outside of MO, would I need to say the criteria? It sounds a little pompous to have to say the criteria for the scholarship.

My mouth is on fire!!

I decided to kick it up to spice level 8 for this pad thai....
I usually get a 6.

Holy moly.

I'm sweating that's how hot this is. But I love it oh so much.
waiting...

I'm kind of a wimp, I can't take foods that spicy. A little spice is good, though.
