Class of 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My family breeds surgeons... I don't know if I could handle thanksgiving with them.

You want to do what? IM? Peds?

There is nothing but surgery. So annoying. My bone head uncle (orthopod) would probably just be like.... *grunt* mmmm bones.

I concur. Anyone without an active imagination, is going to end up becoming a serial killer. Murdering little dogs and stuff. See Michael Vick thread.

I don't see how reading someone else's poorly-conceived fantasies enhances the imagination..? How is any more imagination required for HP than for any other unillustrated novel? More ludicrous does not mean more ingenious.

Or are you actually suggesting I "imagine" we live in a world in which pixies twist each other's nipples and you can get soul-raped by ghosts?

Do you read books?

Serious question.

Wow. Bookfreak wasn't kidding when she said she had something special planned for her 2000th post.

You just need to come out of the whimsy closet. We're all here for you, and we want you to be happy.

I'm not happy, or "gay." I'm sad, or "heterosexual." <--- Colbert on NY legalization. Good stuff.

And as far as the Vick thing goes.. .I dunno.. there are some pretty imaginative ways to torture animals.

No problem. Any time for a cute awkward girl. 😉

Wonder what we will do when the thread breaks 20,000. Think we can do it?

At this rate we will be there by next week!

Yes, I do. And I think that "leaving things to the imagination" is a poor attempt to justify Rowling's lack of descriptive ability.

/bitter..

Seriously, no, I'm not that bothered by it. Just never found it all that compelling. For the record, I'm a big Dostoevsky fan. Somehow I don't think that would've been too difficult to guess.

I may have overcompensated for the fact that 10K was stolen from me by someone. 😡

Thanks. 😳

Meme/gif/image bonanza?

When interview season really hits. We're gonna disperse. It's gonna be like highschool graduation.

Vitamin C anyone?

Oh, the sweet, wistful melodies of Vitamin C. As we goooo noooooow, coooome whateeeevvveeeeeer.

I have faith, though. There will be more activity than ever as we giddily recount our adventures in interviewland.

Which one is your favorite?

Jo Rowling has great descriptive ability. Yes, they're children books. But they're written well.

I would give them to my children to read! haha

Why you question my literacy then?? But I dunno. I just don't find them amusing. To be fair, though, I sorta thumb my nose at the entire fantasy genre. It's a rare gem that can capture my interest, the Lord of the Rings trilogy being one of them. I just like to have some material for reflection upon completion. I enjoy clever rhetoric and thoughtful allegory. This is why HP is not my cup of tea.

Good one.

Yeah, I need to finish reading it. Maybe now that I actually have some free time, I can sit down and read some books. *sigh* Must finish AMCAS first.

Well, when you've finished eighteen years down the road, I'd like to hear your perspective. It's weird how people's opinions on who the main character is reflect their self-perceptions.

😛

Sure thing. I'll PM you whenever I'm finished.

Edit: 2,011th post!....Yeah, I'll stop doing this. LOL.

I didn't say that I'm in love with the book.

Fine. Fine. Is this going to turn into a thing where I keep asking you on a date, and you always turn me down?

Edit: Your post # is 2012.

Party like it's 2012....

Here's a thought, what happens if we went through hell to get into med school. Then the world ends... I'd for sure be mad.

Wanna go on a date?
😍
