Right. You feel bad FOR them. But you're happy that you're in a position to crush them in the first place. I know how it works.

*YAAAWNN*
Good morning!
Sorry I just joined on in, how is everyone?

Buttermellow, did you get my revision?

Why are you spreading lies? Just because you're jellin' on me (TWSS?) doesn't mean you need to sew seeds of discontent into my life.

I ain't even mad. U mad?

No. I abide by the philosophy - "nothing ventured, nothing lost."

They can't tell me I can't be a doctor if I never apply to medical school!

Are you happy now? Are you content now that I'm curled up in fetal position, rocking gently in a puddle of my own salty tears?

Yes, very content. That is the most joyous thing a girl can do to a guy: crush his spirit and reduce him to a crying mess.

As women, this is certainly what we strive for when we reject men.

Haha, kidding of course. I'm never mean to guys who hit on me unless they're acting like a douchebag. I was at the lake on Fourth of July and some drunk guy came up to me and was like, "YOU!! Do you want to make out with me??" Sorry, I don't feel bad about being a jerk right back to him. I've had people come right up to me and ask me if I want to sleep with them. But I am never mean to the nice guys. If I'm really not interested, I'll answer them politely and excuse myself to the bathroom--then just not come back.

I admit it, there have been times where I have missed cues from girls. And some of them have been pretty cute too. Even guys can miss hints sometimes too.

Why not say yes and see where it takes you?

I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

They don't really teach tact in the local schools, do they? What kind of people do you hang with?

IMO herpes is not a road one would like to travel down.

wys, this is your answer.

I live in a college town...guys like this are everywhere. For every nice guy who has hit on me, there are two or three a-holes who say crap like that. So, you have to understand that women tend to be guarded when guys act interested until they know that his intentions are at least somewhat decent. On the other hand, there are plenty of girls who respond to douchey guys because they have low self-esteem or are just slutty--and this just encourages rude behavior. It's just that much rarer for a nice guy to find a nice girl.

Agreed. It's a two-way street.

I've seen way too many a nice guy crushed by girls.
In fact, this weekend me and one of my really good girl friends had a conversation about this new guy she was dating - who she just broke off with. Her reason? He was too "clingy." Not stalker, gonna follow your every move clingy, but rather he was too interested in her and her life.
This same girl constantly complains she can not find a guy who isn't an *******.
Makes no sense to me. I feel like the females of the world are just self-destructive.

Well, maybe she's the type of girl who needs a lot of space in a relationship and gets uncomfortable when a guy is too interested. I don't want to date a guy who's all about me, I want to date a guy who is all about US. Everyone has their own issues and their own personality, too.

By the way, just so you're aware, guys in DC are on average at least twice as douchey as guys in the rest of the country. Not that there aren't nice guys, there is just a higher number of douchebags per capita.

In my experience, the girl wants someone who will challenge her on a level playing field. She doesn't want a pushover (read as clingy), nor a douchebag who will treat her like complete crap. There is a middle ground, where the guy needs to have his own life, but still take interest in hers. Clingy usually means that you're trying too hard, or that you don't have anything else interesting in your life going on.

Take this as you will. I've been in a steady relationship for 4 years with a girl who has done wonders for my life.

wtf is up with these touchy feely posts?

The social scene is a lot more interesting when we make rash generalizations about the motives of the other gender.

I understand, as I'm one of those people that needs a lot of space.
