So my friend, the one with a certified letter she couldn't collect over the long weekend, apparently posted on facebook that she finally had an acceptance. She even put the letter "d", the letter "r", and a period in front of her last name, to try it on for size. As is usual with status updates of major life significance, it drew 47 likes and 37 comments. Friends she's never heard of are hitting her up for diagnoses, golfing tips, and personal loans.

It turns out, it wasn't an acceptance after all, it was a "Congratulations, you are on our quickly growing 'candidates where we really hope we can still find somebody better' list".

She's posting a lot of corrections and lengthy explanations now, and everybody is like :wtf:

Eeesh, that's gotta suck. I sure wish schools didn't phrase their waitlist emails with the word congratulations in the title.

Pandora, what in my extensive history with you would suggest that I would appreciate 2 Rascal Flats songs in a row on my station? Have I ever 'liked' a single country song?

Ouch....

On another note, I have secretly gotten what I believe is my first top in this whole 2016 thread!

Yeah they shouldn't. Especially not in the e-mail subject. I got sooo excited when opening one of my waitlist e-mails.

pandora is a weird station. It seems to miss what i prefer more often than it gets right.

Basketball is tied with hockey for my least favorite sport :meanie:

Nadaba is tied with Saggy Butt for my least favorite poster.

Wow how did that happen?

Well, she got a notice that she had to go to the PO and sign for a certified letter from a medical school. She just assumed it must have been an acceptance. She assumed outside information that wasn't actually in the passage, if you will. Come to think of it, her MCAT verbal score wasn't spectacular either.

The news gets worse... she's in the bottom third of the waitlist, which is basically a polite way of being rejected. Oh well, she is still waiting to hear back from one last interview.

Ah I get it now. I saw your previous post about the letter (and the smoke signals wisecrack by unnamed posters:meanie:) but didn't realize that she posted on Facebook that she was accepted before she even picked up the letter!

You know I'm with you on this 🙂

I'm glad we already got it out of the way that your opinion is null and void when it comes to anything important. 😉

Baseball isn't important though, at least not until the fall.

I started following a team in the Pioneer League (minor A) last summer when studying for the MCAT. But WTF? It snowed 8 inches last night and you are thinking baseball already???
It was like 80 degrees here yesterday, and there are lots of birds chirping and flowers blooming. That probably has a lot to do with why I suddenly got excited... 😀

So I just got an email from howard stating that my file is out of committee and a decision has been made. But I won't know until March 1st. Why are they still making me wait?!?!?! :scared::bang::scared:
