Do you live in a log cabin?

Because that would be badass.

Do you wrestle grizzlies and mountain lions for entertainment?

Yes, although the grizzlies are asleep right now and get REALLY mad when you wrestle them. You know they actually give birth and nurse while hibernating? "Did you enjoy that nap, ma'am? Congratulations, it's a boy! And he's 3 months old already!"

Sweet! I would hate moving away from a home like that.

I do too, but I was rejected from all nearby medical schools and it just isn't practical to keep it if I'm going to be far away and unable to use it much for 7 years. I can afford it financially; it would just be a pain in the butt and a distraction. Time for somebody else to enjoy it while I follow those melting snowflakes downstream to New Orleans.

Fun fact: it takes a drop of water 66 days to get from the Montana headwaters to the mouth of the Mississippi.

Yay! Another two days or so of winter is coming to SoFla! I'm tired of the mid-80's. It will dip down to 49 degrees tonight. 🙂

Its 83 degrees today, and if I wasn't so tired/hungover i would definitely go out and enjoy the glorious weather.

It has snown three inches in the last 24 hours. Just saying.

After not having watched the Walking Dead since season 1, and having just resumed watching at the urging of some obsessed friends, I watched the most recent two episodes in their entirety (2 hours I won't get back). I must say that it has become a soap opera with an occasional zombie. I don't appreciate soap operas.

Glad I'm not missing anything. I watched about 5 minutes of the very first episode, and the dialogue gave me a major case of the eye rolls so I changed it 🙂

The show is more about the people and their drama rather than zombies. While they have taken some liberties with the show, the general theme is the same from the comic. The nastiest stuff thats happened to the people in the comic where done by other people, not zombies, its amazing.

Hm, I mostly disagree. I agree that it needs more zombie action, but I feel as though the "drama" in the show is more of a reflection on morals and humanity faced with utter despair than it is baby mama drama (although, there is a little bit of that, too). Mostly, I enjoy how the show contrasts the hardened zombie world with a utopia of sorts that the group attempts to build. Pertaining to the personal drama amongst the characters, I find it interesting probably only because I have followed the show every week since season 1.

I do indeed want to read the comics. I'll probably get around to that sometime before school starts. Hopefully before the kick off of anatomy lab 😀 .

It was freezing this morning! 38 when I woke up... yet I still wanted a strawberry banana vanilla soy smoothie for breakfast. I couldn't feel my fingers!

So on an unrelated note, I'm actually in physics right now, and every 5 minutes or so the professor says "You should be paying attention because this in on the MCAT." And then draws some complex gaussian surface on the board and does the integral of something to find the charge. I try not to laugh, but I'm 99% sure that none of this was on the MCAT.

Good afternoon folks, the madness of waiting for an acceptance is creeping in.

ahhhh...for me too. hopefully I'll get a decision next week at the only MD school I interviewed at.
can't wait for this season to be over already. I need a vacation.

 Is everybody freaking out? When I lived in Orlando, people would raid the coat section of dept. stores for these huge, thick coats when it got to a high of 55 :eyebrow:. They'd also buy gloves...hehe.

you would be 100% correct

I don't even know what that means and I did OK lol.

Another unrelated topic:

I forgot my student ID card today and so had to tell them my ID number to get into a building and started reciting my AMCAS ID number without thinking about it. Oops

Nerrrrrrrd.

Also, what happened to your MDApps? It seems like everyone is going the anonymous route 🙁

I mean I'm sure all this physics stuff is useful and interesting for some people, but you don't have to introduce every topic with "and this will be on the MCAT..."

lol

SS and I would vehemently argue against this statement 😉. That kind of introduction makes me think you go to a school horribly infested with pre-meds. Even though my school is awful in that sense, I've never had that kind of introduction to any topic .

I hate pre-meds.

I was always one to follow trends, err...it will probably be back next week. I had one of those strange, unexpected online-to-real-life crossovers that made me want to be more anonymous for a bit.

There is truth to this statement, physics can go die in a fire.

top again?

oh yeah twice in a row 😎

Damn the PS section. I made so many stupid mistakes on it.

And Nymphicus, I fortunately (unfortunately?) do not resemble a llama very strongly.

Douchebags.

I agree. My real aim is to obtain a job at one of the world's top universities on the custodial staff. I will then solve complex mathematics on the chalkboards by night, gaining much respect from the condescending faculty. Eventually though, I'll shirk all responsibility and move to California with my girlfriend, ultimately pleasing Robin Williams with my choice.

I'm in the physics sequence for "life sciences", not the physics for engineers and chemists, so that might have something to do with it. Very, very few people get into medical or dental school right from undergrad from my school. It's kind of sad. I tried to do something but the AMSA and bio honors society officials are more interested in being presidents and vice-presidents and inviting Ross every year. I already complained about them earlier. Like this facebook status: "If you're trying to find me, I'm in the lab trying to cure pancreatic cancer. Try to one up that..."

and this email they sent out:
"We will be having a meeting this up-coming [date, time place]. This is an important meeting for those interested in attending Med school in the future. An Admissions Representative from Ross University will be at our meeting to talk to us about their programs...I highly advise for you to dress-up in business attire and bring a printed version of your transcript as well as a resume." Pizza and drinks will be provided.

They put my membership on probation just a few weeks ago because I didn't have enough "attendance points"...lollolol

Sounds pretty normal because that is how they are run at my school too...🙁

lol i think that's how it is at all the schools. Didn't even bother to join the club at my school because of it. And also because I was already in too many clubs

That's too bad 🙁. They do a pretty good job here, but I think that's because there are so many annoying over-achievers that some kind of riot would break out if the acceptance rate dipped below 70%. *disappointed Asian father meme*
