The greatest conceivable meal:

That is a pretty good meal. I'm also fond of sausage, biscuits, and gravy. Gravy makes stuff awesome.

Also, I got to my new home yesterday afternoon. 🙂 Just got internet and natural gas set up this morning, so now I can be connected and have hot water with which to shower. 👍

Just realized I got my first interview one year ago tomorrow. How times change.

I didn't get my first one until mid-July. At this point last year, I was still filling out secondaries, posting in this thread, and doing labwork for a summer research internship.

Can't wait until I get home and make dinnerrrrrr! 🙂

slightly related, do you do any in vivo work?

(please tell me if this is too personal. 🙂 )

Haha not too personal at all. I used to back in my previous lab, primarily with a rat model. Not so much anymore, but I thiiiink I like working in vitro better. Only because I don't have to deal with intestines and poop.

Yeah, I love in vitro. I can't stand in vivo experiments. Cost, time, data that probably doesn't mean anything in the real world.

Are you avoiding it? I hope to never work in vivo during grad school, and if I do, it for sure won't be breeding animals.

I do in vivo work. At least I know our findings are applicable to living organisms... 😛

I couldn't begin to tell you my favorite meal. Depends on my mood. Right now sesame chicken. Or a steak with mashed taters and gravy and grilled asparagus.

Ah, I'm not avoiding it! My new lab just happens to be more in vitro.

Yeah, transgenic animals.. fts. That's just too high risk, imo.. but I def like using in vivo models from time to time to make sure that the in vitro stuff is even clinically relevant.

Guyyyys! Both types are equally important and essential 🙂

So fellow 2016ers, when do classes start for ya'll? I'm going to be moving into my new house in 3 weeks!

About a month from now. I'm moving into my apartment a few days before classes start. July will not go by fast enough.

So. Hungover. Want IV of water and caffeine (although it's a dehydrant---I have to work, and I'm d-e-a-d)
