i can't freakin wait for that. seriously man. I mean, i hate this stupid undergrad ****. I don't give a damn about cell plants or physics or how to write an essay. I want to learn about the body and the body only. I want to help people! I want to spend endless hours at the hospital. grrrr 😡

I'm struggling with the same issue right here hah and according to my sched today is supposed to be the longest study day of the week....

Class of 2017, the excitement is beginning to crescendo. We will soon be prepping for the MCAT and taking that monster of a test. After all it is only 10 months from now that AMCAS opens up for us. 10 months will fly, but let's give the Class of 2016 their due. Good luck you guys.

By the way, I'll be wearing the lovely orange ensemble at all my interviews so I should be easy to spot.

I hope to God I get into the class of 2017. My GPA is pretty good, and I'm taking my MCAT on the 19th of August. My practice scores aren't horrific, but there is room for improvement. My ECs though...oh wow. They're pretty bad. And by pretty bad, I mean virtually non-existent.
 
You have 10 months to do something solid.

Yeah luckily I have a bit of time. I have a bit of shadowing, a semester of research (better than nothing...), and a bit of club work. I don't have much else for my resume. I need to do volunteering though. I'm gonna ask around my group of friends for some places to go do some community service and do that a ton. I just need to get a few more solid rec letters. Especially one from a non-science professor.

Go Go Go! Start getting clinical experience/volunteering ASAP and then find other things you enjoy doing and get involved. Never too late.
 
Yeah, once August 20th hits, I'm gonna focus on ECs. I figure that there is no point about worrying about ECs if I can't even get a good score on the MCAT. I like to take things a step at a time just cause it makes me feel more in control and less overwhelmed. I just hope I score well on the test so I don't have to take it again. That would be agonizing if I needed to study for it again.
 
I'm lucky I live in Texas. Texas residents got it lucky with the whole seat quota thing. I will probably apply to some CA schools for funsies though, but I'll go wherever I get accepted. I won't be picky unless I have the luxury to do so.
 
I just thought I'd drop in to wish luck to my fellow classmates for the upcoming cycle. Our time is approaching!

I'm looking to take it at the end of January as well. That way I'll have enough time to study along with this hectic schedule.

Halfway through my studying; I have 6 weeks (and 1 trip to Puerto Rico 🙂) left!
 
August 19. I didn't much studying this past week, but I am honestly going insane from studying. I just need to last 6 more weeks and destroy the actual thing.
