And the 120K may balloon to close to 200K by the time you are able to make sizeable payments. Have you tried talking to OHSU to see if they will help close the gap? Or there's always Derm :naughty:

Would ask OHSU if they had any funds released on may 15th. They might make the decision easier. If they say no, then state.

I mean if you look at the extremes it's almost a $150,000 difference. Are the benefits provided by OHSU worth potentially >$300k after interest accrues? Unless they truly are, I think money may trump the conversation here. I'd vote State.
 
Guero, a lot of people are voting state, and while I'd love to vote Oregon, their arguments make a lot of sense.
It's definitely worth asking Oregon if there's anything they could do to help bridge that difference, but if not it makes more sense financially to go with the cheaper option, especially if its as solid a choice clincally as you make it sound.
Then again, whatever that special something is that makes OHSU so appealing could be worth all the extra $$$.

Tough call

Haha, I haven't even been married a full year yet (soooo looking forward to that leftover wedding cake on the one-year anniversary), but happy to share what I learn this fall!!

State? Hubby used to live in Clarksville, TN, and though it wasn't very awesome, there was always a 24-hour Wal-Mart nearby 🙂

Really? Any suggestions/ideas for traveling alone? I was considering doing this but wasn't really sure of it.

Damn that is a tough choice but IMO the cost difference is just too high. I guess the true question is if the region of the school is worth that extra debt. You'll probably be inside studying for most of your time anyways so will it really matter?

Book a plane ticket to anywhere you want to go (that you can afford to). If they speak another language there.. learn a few clutch phrases and pick up the rest as you go. Have an idea of all the places you would like to see while there.. but just go by feel once you get there and are smooching with the locals.

Hrm I've never traveled alone. I like traveling with just one other person though. You pretty much get to do what you want and can still smooch with the locals. But you get someone else to split costs with.
