Mr., President, or Interstellar Crime Fighter Obama, I don't think it really matters or conveys any disrespect(or respect) on a forum...... Also pretty sure the President is referred to as "Mr." quite frequently.

Lol. I like Interstellar Crime Fighter Obama! It's as logical as Nobel Laureate Obama. 😉

Btw. I thought it was always President (Mr. President?). But honestly, I couldn't care less what he's called. I'm just instigating. Lol

its 10pm on a friday, in 30 minutes about to leave work for the gym!!!! Cant wait!

I never thought I would feel this way, but after working out 3 days this week I am absolutely loving it. I ight be getting ahead of myself, but I'm already starting to look into supps since I don't think I can improve my diet at all.

Question: how many of you guys plan to stay on the SDN pre-med forums as a med student to help out/offer advice/participate in discussion etc? I think I'll want to stick around, help out and rep my school... 🙂

I will. People like Nick Naylor have really helped me out during my cycle. There are a few groups I think I could help next year. Besides we will be spending a lot of time in the library over the next few years. Checking out a few forums would not be that time consuming.

supplements are crap.

Fish Oil and Creatine and really the other decent thing. I take a multi vitamin since I got it.

Also I don't count "whey" as a supplement, more as a food source.

But just lift heavy as heck since you are starting out, you can make 5 - 10lb PR's week to week.

Just started watching the show 'Homeland' yesterday and I'm already on episode 9! Such an addicting show.

I probably won't. I do enough of it now and people don't like my advice.

I'd like to think I'll drop by, but realistically I'll probably just be doing med school. In all likelihood my SDN account will be inactive until I start thinking about Step 1 prep. :scared:

Yea same. I'm gonna turn into a hermit. In post-bacc and MCAT prep I adopted an overstudying mentality and I plan on keeping it all the way through med school. 3 years of kicking ass to get me exactly where I want to be.

Ditto. Except for the hermit part. I'm a social creature. Lol. I made it work for grad school, and ill make it work for med school. 😛

It's getting ridiculous... the disrespect for the office and what it means as of late.

I should hear back from: UCSF, VCU, Pitt, wake and virginia tech by the end of the month. Possible some others too.

Ahh... Should have made initial statement a little more personal. Best of luck.

Probably on and off.. Make sure the additional not sugar-coated advice is still present...
(and to troll some people)

So I'm thinking about reading House of God. Yay or nay? Don't want to lose my innocence lol.

Haha, some of this stuff is so dense and convoluted I feel like I'm trudging through a swamp..

That was like when I took a russian lit class my freshman year
That was tough but looking back I'm glad I read the books, but without the class I'd have no idea what was happening in the books.

Reading 17th century French Literature.. :barf:

Yeah, I had a Spanish class on the book Don Quixote. We read it in the original Spanish from the early 1600's. An entire semester of just that book was brutal, but actually provided a very interesting glimpse into the political climate of Spain at the time.

I hated reading old Spanish. We read five books in the original Spanish. My professor normally only taught the grad Spanish courses and believed we could do whatever the grad students could do. It's true, but we had the same amount of time to read the books than the grad students had.

Ugh, this book is even less exciting - it's about medieval French court and nobility. I see it like a reality TV show, except way back when.

What's everybody up to this long weekend?

My weekend has been pretty similar, with the addition of girlfriend time and playing soccer 😀

It would be a long weekend if I didn't work today, tomorrow, or Monday 🙁

The worst thing is, I'm gonna miss the NFC Championship Game  🙁

Late reply, but I will definitely be on here offering advice, help, and encouragement even as a physician. I loved the "ask a PGYx resident anything" and the "ask a neurosurgeon" type threads and hope to pay it forward. I've also applied for a MOD position.

DrPedSurg, my "bottom" comment was a facetious reply to someone that celebrated a top post and MedPR calling that person a top *****. I'm on my phone and couldn't multi reply.

After cutting out soda from my diet and doing some calculations, it seems I'm way under caloric intake now that I'm working out. Didn't think I would have this problem lol.
