Photography class is the best thing to happen to my life. It's so satisfying to actually know what you're doing with a camera!!

Anyone have any advice how to find a research opp for this summer?

I'm not interested in being in a lab at all times, but my mentor said its a good idea to get some experience and maybe a pub. :-/

I'd be ok with one that starts this summer and I can continue through m1/m2.

*sigh* Medicine is just a game that we have to play. Lol

Do you know where you are going? If so the admissions office may be able to put you in contact with someone who could help you find research(I think they have something like this at WashU). The other option would be to contact professors directly?

I highly recommend contacting professors directly either where you intend to matriculate or where you're living. Just search for topics you find interesting and send a few brief emails to the tone of "I'm very interested in your research. If you have time, would you mind briefly meeting to discuss your work?" And let me tell you, it'll work about 75% of the time depending on the grants they're working on. Good luck! Feel free to PM me with your questions. I've been very fortunate in this area.

I didn't prep for mine and blew 'em away. (I'd say more but signed a confidentiality agreement barring me from doing so.) I personally think it's better to go in cold. Nevertheless, you may find this helpful.

I should really take it easy tonight, though. My roomie and I ended up partying with the neighbors; it got freakin' crazy, famous people showing up and stuff, people playing piano, guitar, and singing. It was surreal. We were just walking in from the parking garage and, BOOM!, ran into them in the hall, which was all they needed to reel us in. LoL It was fun, but sure was exhausting this morning.

I woke up to find out I was in Nebraska :wtf:. Well, I'm okay now. But still mad that Incognito knows my weakness!

Seriously? Like, really? If you're not joking, how far is that from where you live? I had an in-law that had this crazy story about when he was young and crazy in the 60s.He used to have both a gambling and drinking problem. One day he spent the last of his paycheck on some whiskey, started drinking in TN, blacked out, and woke up in Atlantic City next to some random chick** in a hotel with a .38 revolver missing 2 slugs in his waistband, $1500 in cash in his pocket, and one helluva hangover. He quit drinking that day and never touched it again, lol.

Nom nom nom...gulp gulp gulp...did I mention I'm literally drooling at the thought of a double double animal style with animal fries? Bah! Why must they all be corporately owned!? Congrats! Just got to add another to my list, too, the one and only DO I stuck with, which means some serious thinking in the next 2 weeks before the insane deposits begin.
