Wow. Orientation was only 3 days for us. Then we got started with classes. Now the novelty has worn off and I'm just keeping up with the volume of material presented. Lol

I am in the same boat, one week done, one more week to go. My liver hates me.
 
I have spent my evening learning the brachial plexus.....so much drawing....
 
All moved in. Orientation tomorrow, but I think I'm gonna wake up early and hit the gym. Good night and good luck.

Actually, I think I'm lying. It looks like I'll have time between Orientation and White Coat tomorrow to hit the iron.
 
My laptop came in today. Holy cow is it big! I had a 17 inch my freshman year, but this 15 inch seems like it is the same screen size! Plus, it is so light!

However, the 12 hour battery life is definitely not true. With wifi turned off and the screen dimmed to the minimum, the battery life is 9 hours. If I have the brightness turned up to a moderate level and have wifi on, the battery lasts 7 hours.

Hi guys!!!! It's been a while since I've been on here, I figured I could use some time away from SDN and medicine in general. I just want to wish everyone good luck with their classes, it's finally here!' I'm so excited!

Also, if anyone is bored and is willing to read over my MD/PhD essays and give me feedback as I am applying as an internal candidate I would greatly appreciate it! PM me if you are interested

We had orientation today, too. I'm lousy at this small chat stuff, I can start a conversation but never keep it going like my classmates, who all have far more exciting lives than mine. So lonely. 🙁

I had my first exam as a medical student today. Followed by lectures, so I guess I better get back to studying.

Honestly, I'm loving every second. It's nice to study medicine instead of just general biology. All of our lectures are clinically focused so everything has its applications. I was a bit overwhelmed last week but I seem to have settled in my groove. That may change after the blocks kick in.

Also, I'm being encouraged up run for class president. I'm still undecided, but it might be fun.

I was thinking that exact same thing today. Being taught actual medicine instead of something in a random class that will eventually lead towards studying it... it's awesome.

But the pace really hasn't picked up yet, so that might change soon. Haha
