It just seems like you can never win going up against the MCAT

🙁

HI GUYS I AM SO TIRED OF STUDYING HOW ARE YOU LET'S TALK ABOUT FUN AND EXCITING THINGS. yeah?

YEAH!

sooo, hi?

hi!! 🙂 not that this is a terribly exciting topic to start off on, but help would be appreciated. soooo i recently moved into my own apartment. but i suck at cooking, and my eating schedule makes no sense. so i have basically not cooked anything, and i hardly eat meals. i have like, a yogurt, or some crackers and hummus, or a cookie and then i get full. so i basically just snack all day, and don't eat anything actually sustaining or healthy or home-cooked. it's terrible!! but i can't seem to figure out how to force myself into the three-large-meals-a-day paradigm; my system seems to prefer 6-8 small snacks throughout the day. which i guess isn't bad, but snacks tend to be unhealthy. which is bad.

anyway, i need advice on how to cook healthier things but in small portions. or something.

I'm the exact same way with the several small meals a day. If I were you, I would cook several servings of meat, pasta/rice, and veggies at once, and just store it in the fridge to eat as you wish (ex: chicken, spaghetti, and mixed veggies). Chicken is really easy to cook. You can either bake it in the oven or fry it on the stove. Pasta and rice is self explanatory. And you can boil or stir fry veggies. You could use these for lunch and dinner. For breakfast/brunch you can always make eggs! I'm a HUGE fan of making an egg and cheese sandwich for meals. Very simple. For snacks, see if you can keep a supply of fruits to supplement the yogurt. I find that blueberries or chopped up strawberries really put the finishing touches on a bowl of yogurt.

To sum up, stick with basic foods when cooking and when you do cook, cook enough to put away for a few days which is easily reheatable.

I hope this was semi helpful?

Those are good suggestions -- thanks!! Maybe I'll invest in a rice cooker, because it's much easier that way. I like eggs, and I loooove berries. By themselves, with yogurt, or with cottage cheese. Mmmm. So this sounds good!!! I am not really a big fan of meat is my issue with lots of recipes, but chicken is okay. I like fish, though. So maybe I'll start making those things. I should stop being lazy about grocery shopping and cooking, hahah.

I'm positive that the day I live by myself is the day I get fat haha. I just love food 😀

I'm positive the day I live by myself is the day I die of starvation. My girlfriend has been somewhat reasonably worried about this for a while (no joke).

🙁 *sadness*

I do too.... Like cheesecake....... mmmmmmmmm cheesecake omg

I have a recipe for cheesecake tarts. 😀

I love baking stuff. ^^

As for advice, you should look at some recipes and see what you like. Then you can pull out just enough for one portion to keep it small.

Snacking throughout the day is great for keeping hunger at bay.

Who is excited for the fall semester to get rolling here!??

And what exciting and fun things have you all been doing over the summer?

Hi! I'm raring to go. I want to kick ALL the booty so I'll have a nice and pretty GPA.

I've been dabbling around, thinking about what I want to do. I went through my speeding ticket crap, helped a girl out in a summer class, helped my friends with transferring to other places. It's been interesting.

What's that??

fried green plantains. I had them in Panama and they are addicting:

I am. I'm ready to bring my gpa up  and study for the MCAT. And see my friends again. And all the boys. 😎

Cause I didn't want silverturtle to think that my comment was directed towards her, haha

👍

MCAT studying has been fun.

(not)

But interning at a health care IT startup has been fun. 😀

Sure, I'm ready for school. As soon I decide what it is I want to take, hm....

Last time we hung out, you threw a banana at me!

No that's just me. HYP is awesome (P for Penn right? Screw Princeton lol)

Princeton orange is ugly, but tigers will eat Quakers alive if given the chance. The cat gets the edge.
