  1. Pre-Dental
I am debating if I should take an A&P class this summer while I study for my DAT. It takes up a lot of time. The class itself is 6 hours every MWF (18 hours a week). My other option is taking it online but that ends in august (I want to submit my app in july so it won't count towards by GPA). By taking this class my:
BCP goes from 3.22--->3.26
Is it worth all the time or should I just take it later (focus on the DAT and update my app later)?
But since it's A&P, it might help me with DAT as well I guess.

Focus on your DAT. You will need to make a really high score to compensate for the lower GPA. And going up 0.04 points isn't that significant, but scoring 1 or 2 points higher on the DAT benefits you a lot more. 🙂

I agree but the only thing is I am wondering is if this class will help with the subject because DAT covers A&P.

Still not worth. The class would help you a little in terms of subject matter and then it'll force you to learn a bunch of concepts that might not be on the DAT plus homework and all that. Not worth wasting brain space for anything not related to DAT unless you have to.

Yea that makes sense! Thank you 🙂

Also your potential GPA boost is likely contingent on you getting the grade you expect, which is a gamble.

You are going to need a really high DAT score to make up for your low GPA. Even then your chances of getting an interview are still slim unless you have an upwards trend in your GPA throughout your undergrad. Dental school admission committees use your GPA as a means of seeing how well you will fare in dental school. A 3.2 GPA shows that you didn’t work your a** off in undergrad. They look for disciplined and hardworking individuals, not slackers. If I were you I would wait until the next application cycle and work on getting that GPA up before thinking about the DAT. Those admission committees need to see how much you want it.
