I'm going to JU Orthodontics program starting July 2020. Anyone else? With a class size of 15, I thought there must be someone else on this website. Would love to get in touch....

Hi sorry I know this is a little off topic but I'm still a little torn as to whether to go for IDP or apply to ortho directly, can you tell a little about your experience applying to ortho residency? Don't know if I have a chance.
My stats are :
BDS gpa :3.83
nbde 1/2: first attempt
toefl: 100+
recent grad, us citizen
lots of volunteer work
dental assistant
and looking to start research work in Jan

i would be able to help you if you could be more specific as what would you like to know.

are you the same person who failed 3 times in part one ?
now, JU orhto?
hmmmmm, OK!
I will ask you in the next cycle what you did to get through.
Thanks

i didnt mean to be rude to you. i have received so much bad vibes that this coming as a positive thing was quite a surprise. but thank you for the positive response. are you applying for Ortho too??

I wasn't talking about bad vibes regarding getting accepted in the program. The bad vibes are about something else.
And you are talking about Ortho being saturated. What about the number of students enrolled for the DDS program every year and in turn the number of GP entering the market every year.
If you talk about high tutiton fees, do you know the tutiton fees of Boston University, University of Pacific, Herman Ostrow and many more like that. Even Boston University enrolls 10 students every year, the same number selected for JU. Though JU has 15 seats, 5 seats go to fellowship students in the school and only 10 students are selected based on interviews. JU has a good patient flow which is what matters the most when chosing any residency program, coz at the end of the day we will be working on patients and not doing research in labs....so the more patients to work during residency, the more refined one gets the work done.

Hi there ortho mds!
Any advise to someone who's interested in pursuing ortho residency as a current working dentist?
Thanks!
