If it was a significant experience, you should include it somewhere, even though it only lasted 12 hours. Since it was so brief, you could consider including it with other shadowing experiences (under "other") or another "community service/volunteer-medical/clinical" listing. Alternatively, you could just mention it in your Personal Statment. It sounds like it was a good activity. Too bad it didn't last long.
