I founded a science journal club at my undergrad and so I'm also the president. Should I disclose that I founded the club or should I just say that I'm president? What would come off as better? The reason why I was wondering is because the admissions officers most likely already know that founders become the first presidents anyways. So what comes across as more impressive?

What I did on my app was "founder and president of X club/organization"

You should definitely disclose that u founded the club because that is something we really like to see at the admissions committee. Founding a club takes initiative and the ability to see a need and fill it. We need good leadership skills in our profession, esp because doctors are more difficult to lead as a group...we all think we are smart and want to think for ourselves...we went through medical school to earn the right to critically think and make decisions. Thanks for founding the club, someone somewhere will benefit from it. This is more valuable than saying u were the president.

I agree with the approach @walloobi suggested.
