Debunked
It’s bull****.
OooIt’s bull****.
Yeah, I've been debating an all inclusive mexico trip or a trip out west. Feel like optics of mexico are bad for my social circles but realistically I think an all inclusive trip can be more safe than road triping and stopping at 20+ stops/towns/etc. So torn but I feel the same as you man. I'd hate starting residency without some sort of trip under my beltIs anyone else planning or temped to plan a vacation? I have been agonizing over it for months. We are trying to be pandemic safe but we feel we really need a break before diving into residency? I have been vaccinated but my wife and kids have not. I honestly can’t stop day dreaming of a Hawaiian beach or other paradisiacal location. Anyone else considering something similar?
My wife and I (both vaccinated) did a trip out to AZ. We flew but had N95s on the whole trip. Planes are overall pretty safe most times because they cycle the air really well. Great hiking out there and we got a very private airbnb. Grilled out every night and hiked and such. Mainly in Sedona, hit up Mesa too though. Didn't post anything because of optics and the only ones who knew we were there were family. Worked out super well as an n=1Yeah, I've been debating an all inclusive mexico trip or a trip out west. I need some closure on this... Is it discussed anywhere about if it's truly debunked or not?Debunked
It's all over a bunch of discords and reddit posts and you can ask prior applicants from last year. You can also ask anyone that knows how websites work in general. Just trust me on this one, man. It's a webpage with the gated options listed for when it's time to change it for the real thing. People had this same thing last year and didn't match. People who withdrew had the same message this year according to the EM discord.I need some closure on this... Is it discussed anywhere about if it's truly debunked or not?
One way or another we'll know in 4 days. No need to bring @sunshinefl into this - they have been nothing but amazingly supportive this whole cycle on this thread. Grateful for peers like this in medicine 👍Okay sunshine you do you 💁🏼♀️
Thanks. I don’t use Reddit or Discord (new to me, actually). I feel like there’s this whole other world I don’t know how to navigate. Pretty sure it was just a phrase and not actually talking about sunshinefl since sunshinefl said nothing in the exchange lol.One way or another we'll know in 4 days. RESULTS: Based on my calculations the last kong vs godzilla movie was 60 years ago and the last match was 1 year ago, therefore based on the hype calculation y(number of giant monsters) x z(years of hype build up), godzilla vs kong comes out to a hype factor of 120 and the 2021 match comes out to be 0.

Guys, it was a joke 😛. I guess it's hard to hit that funny bone when anxiety is running high. I'll try harder next time!Pretty sure it was just a phrase and not actually talking about sunshinefl since sunshinefl said nothing in the exchange lol.

One more weekend, folks. I'm a 5 year SDN member and a proud underdog. It's been quite the ride- applied only to DO schools with a 3.56 gpa and a measly 499 MCAT. Grateful for this community, had a lot of help for board materials and advice. Cheers matesWould also like to give a shout out to all my underdogs out there. When I was a premed student I had a 502 and 3.6 GPA. Everyone told me not to apply MD. I did it. Got 7 interviews, 3 acceptances (2 before October 15th). Don't let your dreams BE dreams.
Cheers brotha!! Fellow underdog as well. Been on here since 2016 leading up to med school apps. It really has been a surreal adventure. I can't stop thinking about that quote, the days are long but the years are short. All the day to day stress from exams to anatomy to rotations and alike... we're so close now. Yuh I’ve been seeing a few people post openly on medtwitter (I know, I know... I got on the train I’m sorry! It’s horrible) how their “biggest flex” was that they never got on SDN or Reddit entirely through med school. Get off your high horse; ain’t no “flex.”
Literally SDN advice & the awesome people on here are a huge reason I was able to make a plan of attack & stick to it for applying to medical school as an underdog who found medicine late, cause none of my advisors at my undergrad took me seriously as a pre-med; they only knew how to advise cookie cutter perfect applicants applying in-state (as if any work went into that at all?)
SDN homies also helped me figure out how to study for a gigantic exam and take it seriously for the first time in my life (MCAT), help decide which school to attend, help with doing well in med school, support for studying for board exams, and help me strategize residency application.
Ain’t no “flex” gtfo.
Got the second dose of the COVID vaccine today & I’m stuck up with all the adverse effects you can think of right now; felt the need to vent. Carry on homies.
57 hours left!
Same. Saving that for residency if needed. My biggest flex is that so far I’ve managed to do med school without any caffeine lol

For real. My second audition I was hitting 1000mg of caffeine on average, got up to 1500mg a day or two. This is actually a giga flex. Dang.
Holy crap. 4th semester my diet was mostly Taco Bell and bang energy drinks. I’m proud that I’m down to 3 cups of coffee a day now.My biggest flex is that so far I’ve managed to do med school without any caffeine lol
Bro same... Bangs all day on sub-i’s/surgical rotations. Got it down to only 1 a day as my pre-workout in the mornings now. Going to try and keep it that way for residency lolFor real. My second audition I was hitting 1000mg of caffeine on average, got up to 1500mg a day or two.
Those 300mg bangs will get ya...
(To be clear my usual day is 200-400~, i just let myself get outta hand that month lol)

But Potatoes are finally back!!!Haha. Yeah I only drink water. I try not to eat any fast food either. I mostly eat stuff either my wife or I make. I do occasionally eat out, but it’s rarely fast food. Taco Bell gives me the ‘rrhea.

Well being a vegetarian I really appreciate the potatoes and boycotted tacobell while they were off the menu.More like butt potatoes.
