She's probably working as a cocktail waitress. I was just there and noticed that each time you or anyone else orders a "free" drink in the casino, you are expected to tip them at least $1 (many people tip more than that). Unlike dealers and other staff however, waitresses don't need to pool their tips with others and get to keep everything for themselves. I can only imagine how much money (probably $100s per day) they collect in these tips. Someone could easily rake in six figures a year from this alone.
In critical care... that's especially true.

The pool clubs have servers that bring drinks/provide bottle service to people with cabanas. Seeing as some of the cabanas can run in the 1000s and drunk tourists love tipping, people make crazy money doing this. But the jobs are pretty competitive they have like legit try outs every year for them haha

One of our prelims had 25 ranks and didn’t and just told us today so trying not to barf in clinic

Eh. 4/301 USMDs with 16+ ranks didn't match. There is always a red flag in these situations.
The people on this thread with an actual reason to panic. I.e. not with 20 ranks and 8 love letters jfc

No, like a personality or LOR red flag. The few times I've met someone in person who had something like this happen I realized what the issue was within a matter of minutes.
Classic SDN. We see it all the time in the premed forums: "524 MCAT, 4.0 GPA, valedictorian at Yale WAMC?!?!"
Now it's: "I have twice as many ranks as is statistically necessary for most specialties, and have gotten 8 times the number of love letters that most applicants get, I aM sO wOrRiEd"

I don't care what you say. I feel great about my rank list. But I know tons of people with 5 or less ranks who are all US grads with no red flags cuz this cycle is nuts. And I'm sure tons lurk or post on this thread. So if you seriously can't understand why your take is a ridiculous one to be nervous about ....then I really don't know what to tell you boss.

Those cases of high stats + lots of interviews + not-matched exist every year but are anomalies. I know we are all nervous but you should be able to understand and process that, for the sake of your own mental health.

We all have some form of anxiety at this point, I’m happy to panic with all y’all from the 1 rank CHADs who studded out on their interview to the 20 rank virgins with CVs longer than any book I’ve ever read.

Yeah but maybe some people shouldn't disparage someone for asking a question and then giving a reason why they're stressed. If they were confident in themselves they wouldn't have a need to be hostile
I can understand but dishing insults and mockery at each other is a completely unproductive way to handle stress
Would also like to give a shout out to all my underdogs out there. When I was a premed student I had a 502 and 3.6 GPA. Everyone told me not to apply MD. I did it. Got 7 interviews, 3 acceptances (2 before October 15th). Don't let your dreams BE dreams.

OMG 😱 I am so scared now. I hope it is not me this year. I have a red flag but was fortunate to have received a good number of interviews (much more than I could ever imagine possible). I thought I would be ok with the number of interviews I attended, but this just completely crushed me 😢😭
