Can you attend USUHS if you enlist and then get a commission in the Coast Guard? If so, how would one go about this? Or is there something similar to HPSP?

Since nobody else has responded....The Coast Guard does not have active duty physicians. You would need to transfer out of the Coast Guard. You could potentially go into the Public Health Service which does some work with the Coast Guard.

Backrow is correct, PHS is the way to work with coasties. Army, AF or Navy are your other uniformed service options, but those wont get you in a Coastie uniform or working with them.

And note USUHS USPHS requires you work for the Indian health service or NIH. Coastie stuff would come after.

I’ve also heard the NIH option may be no longer a thing.
