Hey everyone, I took a few college classes in hs this year. senior year. Unfortunately I received poor grades in each.

Precalc - C
College bio - C
Essay - B-
Crit writing - C-

Is there a way I can make these grades not go on my college transcript? I'm worried this will kill my gpas? any input?

It depends on how it is used on your college transript. If those courses just counted as "transfer credit" coming into your freshman year, then you just classify the grade as CR - credit and the number of hours it counted for. If it didn't impact your college gpa, then you don't have to include it in the aadsas gpa. However, if your transcript has those courses included in your GPA (grades and hours) and not just transfer credit, then you should probably include it. I believe this is correct, and I hope this helps.

I am not familiar with how these High School college courses work now. But don't you get credit for them IF you score 3-5 on the AP exam?

if it means not getting credit, that's fine to me. I just don't want these scores to start off my college gpa and such a low level, knowing it's going to take much better to get into dental school

ALL college transcripts, even from high school, must be sent to AADSAS for verification and calculation. There is no way around this, except for omission, which is obviously not a good idea.

I'm sorry you made a bad choices before even starting college.. I feel for you.

My freshman GPA was merely 2.7!

Just try your best after you get into college, there's nothing more you can do about it.

Good luck!

my freshman gpa was 2.96 and im just over 3.6 with 3 consecutive years of ~3.85

You should be more worried not to "kill" your "gpa" once you start college. Needless to say, if you took the courses in college then there is no way to hide them. The C- in English will need to be retaken. The bio should be retaken simply because you appear to have been inadequately prepared.

The real question is, how the hell did you get THOSE DAT scores??

If a class is retaken. i.e. the C in bio. how will the grade work? average the two? or use the new one? or...?

I went from a 3.0 starting my junior year to a 3.4, so it can be done
It is not a great GPA, but I think it will be good enough.

would you suggest taking less units freshman year? or have each year balanced?
