OK, just wondering about interview possibilities at this point (since there is no point clicking on my status page 1000 times a day the next week with most schools being closed for the holidays)...

I've been complete at StLouis, NYMC, Temple, Drexel, Rosalind Franklin and Temple for just shy of 3 months, and have heard nothing since.

Is it normal to wait this long? Or is it that since my stats are above average for these schools, I'm going to be looked at as a "she won't accept, so we won't offer" type of applicant?

I already have interviews lined up at Univ SoCal, Einstein, Albany and Penn State, but wondering if I should expect to hear anything from these silent schools or just expect a rejection letter in March.

I have read a couple of threads on this forum that says NYMC is really backed up, and it took some people 4 months to get an interview. I can't really speak for the others, but I did get an invite from St. Louis about a month and a half after I applied. Temple I haven't heard anything back from yet, but when I called admissions, they said that they were really behind (with over 10,000 applications this year). I would not give up on these schools yet. Best of luck, and I am sure you will do great on your other interviews!

Or is it that since my stats are above average for these schools said:
There is no such thing. (although modesty is real)

I don't have high stats, but I think that a school does have the right to think that maybe you won't go, not just based on stats, but based on location. For instance, I've received interviews at NYMC and Drexel but I have gotten NOTHING from SLU and I've been complete for like 5 months! (New Yorker). Bottom line is I applied to SLU solely based on their avg stats, and they read me like a book and caught me on it. 👍

awk : It's not a matter of modesty. I'm just trying to find out what the reason could be, and it's been widely touted here on SDN that some schools won't bother to look at your application if they think that you are using them as a backup. That said, there is no such thing as a safety school, but that is for another reason altogether, being that the application system is such a huge numbers game and you can just have bad luck and crap out, especially if you don't apply to enough schools. Being immodest would be spouting off that I got a 40mcat and 3.9 GPA (for example, not reality) but saying that your stats are higher than the avg at temple isn't saying that much. Also, as a follow-up stated, it could also be that I have nothing to do with St. Louis, being that I'm from California. But that didn't stop a PA, and two NY schools from giving an invite.
