Question for those that are in the know at Cornell. I'm desperately trying to get off of the waitlist at Cornell. I had one great interview--he told me that he would push for me. But sadly, I'm still on the waitlist... I know that this is a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone has successfully contacted their interviewer. I tried to get his email address from the admissions office a few months ago, but they were pretty adamant about keeping his contact information private. Does Cornell have a policy that forbids applicants from contacting their interviewers? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Just because they won't give out the email address directly doesn't mean they won't forward communication. However, at this stage I think you would be better writing to the committee or Dean Bardes (note I am not at Cornell yet so I'm really only giving you my impression, not any firmly based 'inside' advice).

Have you looked him up on google or checked the cornell website for a directory/people finder? Most schools have a faculty search tool that will give you a phone number and e-mail for their faculty. You might also try the med school and say explicity that the guy told you you could call and ask him any questions you had, but that you misplaced the piece of paper with his contact info (I had a few interviewers who said something to this effect to me, so it's not at all out of the ordinary, especially if the interviewer likes you).

I did this with other interviewers that really liked me (not at Cornell) and some even replied back. DEpending on how much influence they have it might help...I am still waitlisted, but it might just help and you don't wanna kick yourself with what ifs later...🙂

thanks you guys for all the info. i'm really beginning to lose hope at this point...i actually went ahead and sent my interviewer an email (found on the web). i'll keep you guys posted with the outcome. good luck to everyone in this boat!
