Hey everyone,

Just wondering how many of you have recieved an e-mail from Cornell saying that you were accepted? As far as what the admissions office told me, they were going to start sending out e-mails and letters in the next few weeks, but it seems like it might be sooner.... Please post if you've recieved an e-mail from them, and mention when you recieved it and when your interview was. Thanks a bunch!!

Sounds like its on an ongoing, continuous basis over the course of the month. Talk about a nightmare.

Yup... from what i've seen in past threads, Cornell sends out e-mails and letters in batches throughout the month.... well, i'll cross my fingers for us :)

hey guys, i'm new to the sdn forum and have only been reading the posts these last few weeks.

i got the cornell email too on friday march 5th, time stamp was ~6pm eastern time. i interviewed on tuesday february 17th.

dunno how that would help, but good luck! :)

For what it's worth, I also got an email notification of acceptance from Cornell on Fri. March 5th (between 5-6PM, I believe). Good luck, and I look forward to meeting you all at revisit days next month!

Perhaps this was the last of the acceptances and only rejections have yet to come??

4 people at least got the email on Friday.

Eeek, OK this is not my official I love Cornell thread but OK I'll post too. Yeah, I really hope that was not the whole group. Last year there were at least two or more days in which groups of emails were sent out (this is based on my searches of SDN).

And this LOI leads to waitlist theory in the ad comm theory thread is NOT helping my mental state. But I jumped out of a plane today at 14,500 feet so its ok.

My heart will belong to Weill even if they don't take me.

From what I know, they send acceptances out in batches... but I guess I shouldn't be holding my breath :).... hopefully I get a letter soon so that I can quit waiting!

Don't stress, DoctorK, that LOI = waitlist theory is a pile of donkey waste. I sent an LOI in January and they didn't WL me. I'm sure you'll get your email this week!

:) :)

we're actually not even quite done interviewing yet...so decisions are still being made. sit tight people :)

Hey DW, do you know if they're sending out waitlist/rejection letters as well, or just acceptance letters? Thanks!!

for those who haven't heard back yet, when was your interview? i interviewed mid-dec so now i think it's a terrible sign that i haven't heard anything yet... and cornell's my first choice... :(

if mid december is bad, i interviewed in early october. doh!

And I in September.

December was for only the top of the top applicants. Note most of these people are waiting for Harvard letters this week.

Since they are still interviewing this week, my guess is that the majority of the acceptances to people who will actually end up going have not yet been sent.

Good reasoning....I feel strangely comforted by that............Thanks:confused: :D  :D  :D

Yeah I'm not sure that's 100% true but overall I believe this to be the case. It doesn't mean we will all get in but some will :)

i'm just scared now that some ppl have already been emailed acceptances... i feel like everytime i hear back later than others it's bad news. (2 waitlists and 2 rejections this last week... how i wish they wouldn't all come at once)

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Don't forget, I interviewed in December... I represent sort of the lower echelon of the mid-tier of applicants, or something like that, but I would be absolutely blown away by some good news this week... at this point ANY good news. I almost did a backflip when I got my invitation from Cornell and god knows what I'd do if they took my ass.

It's a bit disconcerting that people are getting The email this week and all some of us get are emails with the words "get viagra cheap" in the subject line. Tough waiting. But then again, we all know the saying "No news is.... aaaaaahhhhhhhgggllll!!!!! I can't take it anymore!"

Good Luck

I strongly endorse the "vacuum evacuation" pump.

Keep your hopes up.

still hoping here.

last day of interviews at cornell is tomorrow.

i interviewed at cornell on 2/10, just wondering if anyone who has interviewed around that time or later in feb/march has heard anything back yet?

i know they send out some acceptance emails last friday, just wondering if anyone who interviewed late has heard anything?

I called the school today and was told that a letter was mailed to me on 3/9. I assume this means waitlist since I wasn't e-mailed, although I haven't gotten the letter yet. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Just wondering...for those who received the acceptance email, did you receive a letter/packet yet?

Did the email detail anything about it?

When did you interview? Also - how do you know it's waitlist and not rejection? Good luck everyone.

i interviewed 2/17, got the email 3/5 (which said that letter packets will be sent out 3/8), and i got the paper acceptance letter in the mail today.

good luck everyone! :)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I CAN'T TAKE THE SUSPENSE.

i want to go to cornell so badly that i can taste it.

I feel the same about Columbia ;)

So if you're going insane, don't worry, I am too! ;)

Hmm... thanks, Jugador. More pain and self-doubt. I'm just guessing it's a waitlist, but yeah it could be a rejection. But I'm a hopeless optimist.

Well, it was a waitlist as predicted. Does anyone know anything about the dynamics of the Cornell waitlist? I've heard that it moves, but how many come off the waitlist each year? Is there any ranking at all? Any insights would be welcome.
--Grumps

was the wait-list sent to you via email/snail mail?

Snail mail, mailed on the 9th, got to my house in VA today. No e-mail for me. Are they still giving out acceptances? Has anyone else gotten snailmail from them?

i'm actually wondering the same thing;

hopefully the acceptances they sent out last friday weren't the last, but i'm curious to understand the method they're sending them out. maybe they're waiting to see if everyone in the first batch accepts?

i haven't heard anything- maybe they'll email out again in an hour!?

ah, the wait is awful.

Hey guys, I called today and they said no decision has been made on my file. This means most of us are still contenders.

grrrrreaaat, first I waited a hell of a long time for an interview, now I have to wait a hell of a long time for a decision... ah well what can you do :(

to be honest... sometimes it's better not to know. and i'm generally superimpatient. sigh.

Irregardless of the final decision, I'd like to hear soon from Cornell. Cornell and UCSD are the only schools I'm waiting to hear back from and I'd really like closure in this whole med school process so that I can get back to having fun and goofing off before I start med school. :D

waitlisted. well, let the waitlist waiting fun begin.

has anyone been accepted by way of snail mail only (and no email)?

it seems that waitlist letters were sent with no email... but no rejections yet (?)

people with acceptances all got emails first.

three painful months past before i heard back from ucsd. don't worry about it though (easier said than done).

POST- INTERVIEW rejection. Ouch this hurts...(tears):(

Another Waitlist for me. Postmarked 3/10.

Whoa what's going on! Maybe they decided on about half of the apps??

I dunno, the woman told me no decision yet but I'm still afraid to check the mail.

Sorry Please! I know how that feels (UCLA...).
