Hi everyone, I keep going over Cornell's supplemental questions and I'm just stuck on "Describe a situation where circumstances were against you and how you made it work for you." I've looked through some comments from years past about this essay, and there have been mixed messages on whether or not you should write about something really personal, like a health issue or family problem, versus something having to do with your professional/academic life. Are there any more recent opinions about this? I have an idea in mind, and it has to do with an immediate family member going through health issues and how I've learned to cope with this. But since I'm not the one directly experiencing it, I'm just concerned that it might not seem relevant. Any insight would be helpful!
