yeahUniversity Of Toledo just canceled second look
Never mind it's officialLooks like Tufts might cancel too...
Yeah, that's the part that's most upsetting for me. I was really counting on second looks to help me make a decision. Two of my schools have already cancelled, and at this point, I'm expecting the same from my others.I don't want to say it's a given, but looking at the major institutions cancelling at a rapid rate, I'm guessing most will eventually. I wonder if this will impact people's decision's much at all if you have several acceptances?
Ok - Looks like nearly all schools will cancel 2nd looks by the end of the week. But if you are still seriously torn about a potential school, you may be able to arrange your own 2nd look? Great meal, swag bag, PowerPoint of benefits- probably not. But if you set it up in advance you can look around, meet with admissions, financial aid, ask questions, maybe even talk to a student or two. I know it’s not close to the same experience, and there’s no networking with classmates , but it might give you some peace of mind.
Still cheaper than all the expansion packsMed schools for second look be like:
Welcome to The Sims 8: medical school edition. Can we take your $300,000?
Almost every tech company in silicon valley has their employees working from home. Every major medical conference in the world has been cancelled. Most colleges have told students to go home and most medical schools are now holding online classes. Avoiding being public is literally the best possible thing you can do at this stage of the outbreak. Not all schools even have second look weekends, and not all people are in the position of choosing from more than one school. I actually don't even see the point of going to a second look if you aren't meeting your potential classmates. If you feel so strongly about the need to go organize a second look by yourself, then go for it lol. I'm sure admissions will be super accomodating.Yes, but my understanding was not that the entire nation should shelter in place. The idea is that we avoid large gatherings of people. And I'm not sure I would consider a $200-400,000 decision, and potentially living in a region for 6-7 years, as trivial and unnecessary.
