Next fall, I will be studying for the mcat and taking it in january. So for my class schedule for fall of junior year, I will be taking Biochem 1 plus workshop (4 credit hours), Intro bio lab (2 hours), neurophysiology (3 hrs). Im also thinking of doing research for credit (3 hrs) and TAing for bio class if I can get it (3 hrs). Both of these are credit/no credit. That's a total of 15 hrs. In the past, I've been taking 15 hours a semester. Would this schedule seem too easy? I dont want to overload myself because I want to concentrate on the mcat. I will also be volunteering weekly and stuff.

Lab TAing takes a big chunk of time out of your schedule and it isn't very high yield in terms of learning or "leadership".

The research will also require a lot of time, both in lab and out (library research and presentation preparation). However, a sucessful lab experience can be very fruitful.

libraryismyhome, was it really that bad?

mcat classes are 3 days a week. mon, fri, sat

MCAT classes guide studying. You still have to do tons outside of class.

i just dont want adcoms to frown upon me taking only 9 hrs of class and lab

I'd be much more concerned about adcom frowning at a crappy MCAT score.

should i take biochem, or replace it with an easier science elective?
