m transferring into a university from a CC and I want to know what you guys think of my course load.. is it too much or too little or just right??

This is on the quarter system

Physics I (3)
Physics I Lab (2)
Biochemistry (3)
Biochemistry Lab (2)
Microbiology (3)
Microbiology Lab (2)

I am a bio major at UW and the only classes I take from here on out are bio classes so switching out for a non science class wouldnt work...

If you want to help a lot, you can look at this link and tell me what you think.. I have satisfied section I, and II already

that's a heavy load but you could handle it if you really work hard. is this going to be your first quarter at a university vs jc? if it is you may want to switch one of those classes for an easier bio..maybe evolutionary or something

the only reason i suggest is because of the difficulty difference between jc and a 4-year university. also at my school biochemistry and microbio are both very heavy 300 level courses and physics (if its calc based thats the one i had to take because im a chemistry major) is no walk in the park either

thats my 2 cents, but if you're determined im sure you'll be ok 🙂

If you think you can handle, go for it. Just don't ruin your gpa. High Gpa + low amt of coursework> low gpa+high coursework.

That isn't too bad. 15 credit hours is definitely doable. To graduate on time you need quarters to at least have this many hours.

I say this is typical of a science/biology major but again, you know yourself best...especially as an upperclassman (Guessing you are a junior/senior)

Would I be better off taking Micro or Biochem in my senior year, and adding a class like Foundations in Physiology or Sociobiology?
