My school (big state university) has moved all-online for the rest of the semester. They have also canceled the commencement ceremony and all university-sponsored events for the rest of the semester.

The post from someone reporting that their school canceled all summer internships has me concerned about my summer classes.

Are any schools outright canceling summer school? Do you think it's more likely they will move it online if this is still a crisis in June? Has anybody heard anything?

Thanks!

I don't think summer classes will be canceled, since that's a big monetary problem for schools (summer classes = $$$). Labs may be canceled, but I think regular classes will just be offered online. That's what seems to be the case for me (a UC).

Internships are employment, and they're probably canceled due to companies not wanting to deal with online/remote interns during the summer.

It's a little early to call. Technically registration for summer classes should begin by the end of the month, but the universities need to make that call... but we just don't know because it depends on how bad things get in the next month. In some cases, the summer semester begins literally the day after commencement at some schools.
