So I am applying this cycle and its been ok so far, but just in case I don't get in I'm wondering if it will hurt me to take a class or two this semester as credit/nc. I've already graduated and am working 40hrs a week to pay the bills and interview debt I've incurred thus far. I'm taking 11 credits and at least a couple of them are quite hard. I'm also doing 2 seperate research projects in hope to publish my research before med school, and I'm still mainting my heavy ec load (15-20 hrs a week). I don't want to hurt my GPA, but I feel that my ec's and research are more important to me and I would rather not cut those. Any advice?

what are the classes you want to take pass/fail?

Genetics and french. French has an attendance policy and I can only miss so much class even for medical school interviews. Genetics won't allow me to retake quizzes even if I have a medical school interview and have to miss class.

I wouldn't take genetics as pass/fail. What happens if you don't get in this cycle and you want to apply to a school with genetics as a prereq next year?

I think you're fine taking french pass/fail
