hi! need to make a decision within few days and interested in competitive specs like derm

Creighton (phx)
Pros
- top choice out of the 4 places I interviewed at
- students seemed superrrr supportive, great community
- have a lease lined up in phx, was all set to go there
- close to home (colorado)
- matches in co/ca where I'm thinking of ending up in

cons
- newer school
- more debt (would cost around 80k more total)
- less match history of phx campus
- would have to outsource for research

Netter (north haven, CT)
pros
- just received acceptance and scholarship 3 days ago (20k/yr)
- decent match list (good programs in northeast and ca)

cons
- do not want to live in ct
- small class size (96 students)
- no affiliated hospital (clinical rotations can be a far drive)
- unsure if there's a strong community there esp since rotations are so spread out
- would also have to outsource for research

basically I want to go to creighton but is the scholarship from netter worth it to go there? it does make loans more than 80k less. thx!

went to netter accepted students day, i ended up not going

-The small class size doesn’t seem like too much of a con since everyone knows each other & loves each other, the community seems SUPER strong
-i am from the northeast but not New England, and sometimes felt out of place so i can imagine colorado to Connecticut might take some time to adjust to
-the students say that learning at different hospitals & teaching styles, doctors, charting systems, etc is a pro that preps you for residency but they also admit it’s annoying
-research seems fairly easy to find but you do have to compete with Yale

Edit: match list seemed incredibly impressive for netter

I'd go to Quinnipiac. Lower cost, solid match list. Might consider where you'd like to live since they are very different places.

Don’t overthink this. You were accepted to your top choice—go there!

I don’t think the cost difference is significant enough to justify moving across the country to go to a school that you don’t want to attend. I’d go with Creighton-PHX.

tysm!! was there anything in particular that deterred you from going?

I think the biggest thing was feeling more at home at another school, not because they weren’t friendly or inclusive, but more because of the regional geography thing
