Has anyone ever gotten more than one C in pre-req courses (and applied to PT school without retaking them)?
I got a B in physics 1 & a C in physics II, and a C in Gen Chem I. I got A's in both anatomy 1 & 2. I have yet to take orgo and microbiology, but provided I don't get below a B in either of those, do you think I still have a good shot at acceptances? I'm not planning on applying to any schools of USC's caliber.

Avoid orgo if you can help it. I don't know of many schools that require it (unless you need it for your major). That class can be a major GPA killer.

I had a C in gen chem I and a D in another pre-req (but I retook that one and got an A the second time around).

I had a C in General Chem I and in General Chem 2...I had a C+/B- in both Anatomy and Physiology...I retook all 4 classes, got a 3.5 in Gen Chem 2 and a 4.0 in the other 3. I was accepted to 2 out of 6 schools that I applied for...All I am saying here is that anything is possible...You might need to retake a one or two of them theough if your pre-req GPA isn't high enough...most schools need at 3.0 in pre-reqs alone.

What about B's? I have B's in anatomy 1 and 2 and B's in both physics... but A's in both physio's and chem's. I know I'm worrying too much 😉 however, those are definitely classes I'll be retaking if I don't get into one of the 15 schools I'm applying to 🙂 (except physics, I refuse to put myself through that again!)

Only retake B's if they make up the biggest majority of your prereqs, and only if you have the time and money to do it.

I had this same mentality when I first started applying (look up my thread). I had mostly A's, but I've come to find out that aiming for perfection is a losing game with PT applications.

If you have mostly B's with C's sprinkled in, then you should retake the C classes first and then evaluate where your prereq gpa sits. If it's treading the 3.0 line, then retake a few of the B classes to bring it up.

The general consensus is you would get more benefit focusing on raising your GRE than you would from retaking B classes.

Honestly why even bother retaking b's? The impact that a movement from a b to an a will make is not that significant. Don't waste your time or your money. No admissions person will look at your transcript and say, "wow a B in statistics...really wish they would have gotten an A. Looks like we can't offer admission."

ahahahahahahaha oh nicole, never that! 😉 I'm not asking if i should retake them, sorry if i phrased that the wrong way. It was supposed to be sarcastic, but i WILL be retaking those classes if i don't get in 😀
