After waiting for such a long time, CS results will finally be made available tomorrow. My question is what percentage of examinees will get their results? I took the exam over 2 months ago, will it be tomorrow? Has anyone's "Score Report Date" on the NBME portal changed? Are the results usually available in the AM or PM?

Thanks!

Question - once you retransmit it, and if you're waiting for a CK score, do you have to retransmit that as well once it comes in? (which I would prefer).
I think that you need to re-transmit again for a future score release. The transmission only updates it to your current transcript, and nothing was mentioned about re-transmitting anything else automatically.

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in about this test:

1. This is the stupidest, most subjective test on earth. No one is a better doctor because of it, only a better actor.

2. Having said that, it does not have to be a horrible test, as I somehow passed doing the following things:

-Barely starting the physical exam with only 5 minutes left to go on at least 3 cases
-Not asking one question at a time i.e. "do you have chest pain, shortness of breath, or abdominal pain?"
-Doing a physical exam (knee) on someone in obvious pain (something I heard was a huge no-no)
-Forgetting to do heart/lung exam on multiple patients
-Forgetting to counsel at least a few patients on drugs, alcohol, diet, exercise, safe sex
-Not summarizing findings for patient after taking HPI
-Forgetting to do a diabetic exam i.e. fundoscopic, foot
-Forgetting to avoid all medical jargon
-Not offering water for coughing patients
-Not expressing empathy for each patient
-COMPLETELY blowing the differential diagnosis on 3 different patients

In short, I worried relentlessly for 10 straight weeks. I was already studying for the retake I knew awaited me. I only post this so that if there are others worrying, maybe this will allay some fears. I was terrified. I hope it all works out for everyone. This test SUCKS!!

Took mine on august 24 and no score yet. Assuming it will come next week or the one after. Argh

Are you talking about CK or CS. Because if you are talking about CS I think you have several months to wait.

No he/she doesn't. They started releasing it yesterday and will continue to release it for the next couple of wednesdays

for any future test takers who may be reading this...you are supposed to do a physical exam on a patient with knee pain who is in obvious pain. you should say something like "i'm sorry I know this hurts but I must examine your knee so I can figure out what's wrong and be able to help you. once I'm done I will make sure you get something for the pain". The huge no-no is not examining the part of the body the patient is complaining about!

Yah so long as you show empathy for the fact that they're in pain

I know one of their other things though is not re-examining a severely painful area.

Anybody anticipating the CS release tomorrow?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using SDN Mobile

Sorry, I did mean RE-examine someone's area of pain. I mistakenly continued to jerk someone's knee around who was in obvious pain. Don't think that's a good idea, from what I understand.

I passed despite forgetting that you cant write anything before entering the rooms. I was writing out a template for vitals and got pounced on nasty fast.
You can't write out doorway information? You can't write anything at all before you enter the room?

You cant write anything before opening the door panel with the patient information.

After they announce the encounter begins, you slide open the thing on the door, and you can write things down.

So yes, you can write doorway information. You can't just write anything beforehand.

How long are scores taking to come back nowadays? Around 2 months, or longer?

By looking at their website, my "Reporting Period" is Dec 5- Jan 5.. Dec 5 would be around 2 months.

Just wondering if it's actually more delayed than their website suggests..

Under my "your most recent CS exam" box there is no exam date listed. I took it mid-Oct. in Philly. Maybe because I'm an IMG? Anyone else have this problem?

No, mine looks this way as well, and I took mine in mid-Oct/Philly (I'm an AMG). I'm banking on Dec. 5, and hoping their not going to make me wait 2-3 weeks...the torture of waiting for results of this stupid test is ridiculous.

To those who passed: Please advise if CVS and lungs auscultation should be done in all cases? I find it time consuming in all cases and if i will add them, then i could get short of time for closures. What to do? USMLE website also says only focused physical examination should be done.

it's probably a good idea to do it unless the complaint and is purely orthopedic in nature for instance. if you want to cut somewhere you should definitely try to take a more efficient history. don't cut into (or especially eliminate) your counseling and closure because that part is important.

A basic CV and lung exam should not be time consuming so I would reevaluate how you're doing them if that's the issue.

I agree. I auscultate heart and lungs in every patient anyhow so did that on CS too--it doesn't add more than about 30 seconds IME. The only case that I did more than that was one with a respiratory complaint where I percussed and checked for egophony.
