I am wondering if anyone has thoughts on which state I should claim as my state of residence. I grew up in CT, went to college in NY, and have been living in NY for the past year. It is my understanding that I can technically be considered a resident of either state, so I’m not sure which to claim as my own. There are obviously more NY schools, but also probably more NY applicants. Additionally, UCONN has one of the strongest in-state preferences. Quinnipiac also favors in-state applicants even though it is a private school. For context, I am a lower stat applicant with a gap year in clinical research. Either way, it should be clear that I have strong ties to both states, but any advice on what you think is my best choice is would be appreciated!
