For the cube counting section on the PAT which technique do you use: recording the number of sides for all cubes at the beginning or counting the number of cubes with a particular face number only when a question asks specifically for it??
go through all very quickly. Usually my scratch paper looks similar to the actual 3d figure, but instead of the cubes, it is comprised of integers representing the exposed side for each cube. When the question is asked per side, I scratch them off when I count them to make sure I don't count one twice.
Hope that made sense. Worked well for me. I ended up with a 21 PAT
If you do them enough on practice tests, you dont need to count sides but begin to recognize what each cube is without counting sides. I only counted the ones asked. That was the most effective way for me (PAT-23).
