hey i interviewed at colorado last year. at that time they had following exercises:
14 mo
30 full gold crown
wax exercises: make an o with red wax
another melt blue inlay wax into a square
and carve a green stick wax into a pencil .
wax exercises are easy not to worry about that , but do well on tooth preparations.
good luck👍
I melted wax, some people just made a rope and stuck it on paper.I melted a layer of wax and carved excess away.
hi oral care,
I have another doubt,
you said for the pfm prep u give shoulder on buccal and chamfer on lingual. Im guessing that thats for cases where you have porcelain only on the buccal aspect. What if there is porcelain all over with a metal coping, what margins are you guys taught for that. If possible, can you please clarify this with one of your faculty members and help us out please. Its urgent as the test day is coming up quick. (im asking this because the general dentists in clinics do a chamfer here. i didnt understand the concept behind it).
Thanks for the information about the bench test. Can u plz. also tell me the names of the waxes they are asking to do the exercise with and also the name of the wax carver.I melted wax, some people just made a rope and stuck it on paper.I melted a layer of wax and carved excess away.
thanks dr cool...can u tell me whether they set maniquens with cheeks or without it just with jaws..yes i took interview on 7 th may. All i can say is my experience at school was wonderful. It was stressfree envoirment, especially current students guide you well. The facility there is new and state of art.
In interview it is basically about you....so just be yourself. They ask some questions about subjects but only clinical things, so if you have clinical experience it should not be problem otherwise read fix prostho and restorative well, especially RPD designs.
About bench test current students guide you well so prepare for class 2 and crown. This year they are going to change tooth numbers so prepare on all "posterior teeth".
Wax exercise is tough one. so try to save time from preps to give it to wax. They changed all wax exercises this year.....hardest one is green stick. It took me abt 45 min alone.
all i can say is interview was stressfree, be yourself and try to tell them more what you are best at.
Good luck for other batches.
