Is there saturation in Podiatry field?
I see that 120K is the average salary. Are podiatrist who make high earning usually mostly hired by orthop group or private practice? If private practice, what are the earning potential?

at least in NYC, people seem to start about 100k + bonus after residency and they seem to make about 150-250 k eventually. The director of my program says that you should expect about 150-200k as a DPM.

I see no reason to think that overall the income that you will be making potentially as a podiatrist would be really decreasing, although I think it's probably true that most medical specialties have seen their reimbursements decreasing over time. Starting salaries are probably higher than they have been in the past, but there may be less of the docs making really big money, I really don't know.
