1. Which of the following muscle positions the condyle in the most superior anterior position?
a.masseters and digastrics.
2.masseter and medial pterygoids\
3.temporalis and sternocleidomastoids.
4 temporalis and superior lateral pterygyoids.
5.medial ptreygyoid and sternocleidomastoid.

Which of the following anatomic features will restricy the amount of lateral shift that can occur on a working side condyle?

1.medial wall of the articular fossa on working side.
2.superior wall of the articular fossa on the non working side.
3.capsular ligament.
4.stylohyoid ligament
5.stylomandibular ligament.

which premolar has the b- l diamension greater than others.

max 1 st or 2 nd.

i think its max 1 st since i tis the widesst
but i read in wheelers that occlusal table of max 2 nd is wider. but the measured dimensions of the teeth given r same.
so i m confused.
plz ans these ques

answer to q1
is see the attachments of the muscles
temporalis inserts into coronoid process of mandible and helps in closing the mandible n its posterior fibres retract the protruded mandible
n insertion of upper head of lateral pterygoid muscle
on the articular disc of tmj
i think answer is superior lateral pterygoid n temporalis
coz temporalis is for sure keeps the mandible in superio position n in anotehr choice its with sternocleidomastoid ...i dont think does
well 😕
well still reconfirm
q2
amount of lateral shift is prevented by
capsular ligament

well do correct if wrong

i'm not sure about the 1st question...but the max 2nd premolar has a greater B-L dimension than the 1st premolar (and all the others also). this was a question on many old exams...can double check to make sure if you want.

thanks guys
that really helped

The lateral collateral ligament of the TMJ consists of the capsule and the temporomandibular ligament. This ligament is the most important. It attaches to the inferior aspect of the zygomatic arch and runs inferoposteriorly (obliquely). It limits excessive lateral and posterior movement of the mandibular condyle. The medial ligaments of the TMJ are extracapsular and are not very important.
i think it is capsular ligament

i think it is capsular ligament

it is capsular lig
it resists any medial lateral and inferior forces that tend to dislocate the articular surfaces
