Geisel

Pros
-They value non-trads and I am non-trad
-Good match list
-Service oriented, which I value

Cons
-Expensive
-Very cold (I am from a warm place and cold can be hard for me)
-Small and rural location (I was hoping for a slightly bigger city)

Wright State

Pros
-NBME exams
-In Dayton, an area I really like

Cons
-Not as prestigious as my other options
-Seems very primary care focused (I am interested in pathology)

Cincinnati

Pros
-They have a decently large pathology department
-Cheapest option

Cons

-Not a huge fan of Cincinnati
-Monday exams (biweekly)
-Class rankings. I really want a more collaborative learning environment.

WMed

Pros

-Great pathology department (medical examiner works out of the campus and they have a lot of pathology connections at the school)
-Decompressed schedule with exams on Fridays and a week off after each block
-I like Kalamazoo as a city

Cons
-VERY expensive (not sure if the cost difference would be worth it)

Thank you for any input in advance!

Cincinnati is the cheapest and highest ranked school here. Seems like the best option. No pass/fail is unfortunate, but can be dealt with. If you can get over the city/weather, Geisel is not a bad option too.

Out of these schools, Wright state has the most collaborative environment. Everyone is really happy there and some of the nicest faculty I’ve ever met. I don’t think you should pick it over more highly ranked schools, but it is affordable even for OOS. Also pathology isn’t really super competitive, you could probably make it happen anywhere but you’re correct that Wright is more primary care focused.
