Thanks for the winterwear advice, diatom and kbear. I suppose looking now can't hurt...

Pardon the ignorance, but how has Davis been notifying acceptances? I seem to remember they do either email or phone, but can anyone confirm? Wondering if I have to compulsively check the postbox as well.
 
i have been following this thread for a long time and it appears there is no standard way that folks have been contacted. Sorry, that is probably not too helpful to know.

Some folks have been called or emailed by someone in Admissions or an interviewer (fac or student). Some have been contacted by financial aid by email or mail when the admissions office failed to notify the applicant quickly. Some have called into the admissions office and found out by phone. And some just received their acceptance packet through snail mail. So I suppose you should check the postbox, but know that isn't the only way (or most likely) way to be contacted (so skip the compulsion, if possible).

I got a phone call when I got my acceptance.

By the way, thanks to everyone on here...it was a real long wait for me, and here's hoping that you guys hear good news...especially kbear...I really hope you get in

Just got my rejection email today as well. Looks like Im going to have to reapply next yr.......($3k down the drain). Hopefully, they will be willing to give me feedback in regards to my app.
 
Sorry to hear, Batman. They could probably give you some application tips once this admission season has died down.

With your high MCAT score, I'm scared.....you are an amazing candidate too....

I don't think verbal score is a big factor at davis. I got in with 6. :hardy:

That just made my day....you know MSAR's range for verbal...The range for verbal was 6-15 I think for UCDavis for 2005.

I was thinking...they probably wouldn't accept me with a "6" since it might extend their range a little lower than they want. Since they have already accepted someone with a 6, I don't think it would make a significant deal if they accept someone else with a 6. You must have been awesome in other aspects. Way to go 👍

I'm just being hopeful, don't mind me. There's always wishful thinking right?

I got an e-mail from Davis financial aid on Fri (Lynn Peters) asking me to fill out forms if I wanted to apply for financial aid for the 07-08 UC Davis school of medicine year. Well, i haven't rec'd a rejection e-mail, but checked my cell msgs and haven't received any calls from them either, just wondering if everyone has received this fin aid e-mail so late in the game or only the people who have been accepted have received them. Am I jumping the gun in thinking this means I have been accepted, or are they only now asking for fin aid forms from everyone who interviewed? What do you guys think?

Prior to getting accepted, I was sent some Financial Aid info in the mail. My dad thought it was a big deal because he thought that meant I was going to get accepted. I thought-- nah, they probably send this out to all applicants who were interviewed. But low and behold, I was accepted a week later. However, I was not sent an e-mail but an actual page via snail mail about financial aid. I don't know- maybe you were accepted When did you interview? Good luck :luck::luck::luck::luck: If other people did not get this e-mail then you definitely have a shot!

Still waiting to hear after April interview. No fin aid info, no emails, no calls, etc. Maybe you got in and they haven't notified you yet. Sounds possible since they rejected a few of the recent April interviewees just a couple days ago.

Anyone else get this email who hasn't heard back on their interview?

interviewed in mid-april...when did you interview and then get the fin aid info...how did you find out you were accepted? i basically can't be reached by phone right now and was wondering if the davis admin guys will only tell you over the phone or mail you something, but won't leave a message to tell you you got in. arghhh, the neuroses, if i wasn't neurotic before, this process sure will do it to you! thanks buba

Hi Margarita,
I interviewed on October 9th and heard back from Davis in January. I got the financial aid info around the first week of January through snail mail, my student interviewer e-mailed me the news of the acceptance one week later, and a week after that I got an official letter of acceptance. Hang in there!
 
No email from my April interview. I'm surprised I wasn't rejected right off the bat. I had the worse interview in my life. For some reason mentioned highly illegal stuff, could'nt answer questions, etc.
 
Hi everyone,

I'm new to this board but thought I'd chime in. I interviewed in April and received an email this week saying that I've been put on hold until all applicants have been reviewed. I'm thinking it'd be at least another 2-3 weeks before they review all applicants. Davis is easily my first choice so I've been waiting anxiously just like the rest of you guys. Good luck to all...

Hi All, I've been reading these posts for such a long time, but now I decided to join in for moral support 🙂 I also interviewed in April and haven't heard either way. I'm planning to go to school in Oregon...but it's soooo expensive since I'm out of state.

Tell me about it. The out of state school I will be attending is around 80K a year! (50k alone for tuition). It's out of state for all 4 years for me too.
 
Hey Ihateverbal, what's your out of state school? Mine is 4 years of out of state tuition too. Grrrrr. I grew up in Oregon too which is what makes it very annoying. Wow, venting about this stuff feels really nice 🙂

I got an acceptance call last week, after having interviewed mid-April

hmm seems like they're working hard now.

pleeeaaassseee get to me soon!! but i doubt they will have gotten to hold list by next week, before i leave the country. damn.

Anyways, every morning when I wake up, I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack checking my e-mail box. Sometimes i even purposely avoid it because I'm so scared. This is not a healthy feeling.

Got the good news a few days ago.... I'm in! I interviewed in March and received an email from my student interviewer. I am still walking around in a daze. Good luck to everybody waiting.
