I still haven't heard anything from UCD. This is really lame.

I e-mailed them last Wednesday, and they said, "Oh! We sent your acceptance e-mail to this e-mail address, 10 days ago! Here, we'll send you another copy" and then they did. And they said they weren't going to contact me again until after April 16, because they just assume we got the e-mail and they don't want to pester us about a decision. But you definitely should have heard something either way by now, so e-mail them.

I STILL haven't hear anything either. I called last week (Tuesday I think?) and they said they'd be mailing rejections to those who didn't get an interview within a week (nevermind their Apr 1 deadline!). I don't understand making your own deadline & then failing to meet it.... I know I didn't get in, but it's like death & breakups - I need closure! And these stories of missing emails just make me paranoid!

Thanks for the congratulations, guys. I think my heart stopped beating when I saw Yasmin's reply saying they'd sent my acceptance letter; I was sure that at best I'd been waitlisted. 🙂

I am heartbroken about this, but I think I'm going to have to decline. I loved Davis -- everything about it -- but I'll be 38 when I finish my residency and I can't seem to convince myself that borrowing $240K is worth it, when I could go to Mizzou or Penn for less than half of that........maybe even a third!

But Davis was pretty much my dream school.........I never thought I'd actually get in, and having to turn them down seems completely surreal! (I know, I know -- poor me. 🙂 Seriously, I wish all my problems were this wonderful!) And I'm sad that I won't get to be classmates with you guys! And I miss California!!! So, now I have about 3 days to decide between Penn and Mizzou.............I'm getting nervous!

Well, I was placed on an alternate list at UC Davis and I am just sick that I have to wait even longer for a final decision. I was told that I was first on the alternate list after the overbooks and that means I need 11 people to decline to get in...I don't see that happening! Well....I sent my money to U of Minnesota. It is a great school and I love the people there. I was hoping to get into Davis to save a few $$$ on tuition, but hey, when you're that far into debt, what's another 30 grand?? LOL! Congrats to everyone going to Davis! 👍 😀

that's fantastic! I know someone (in her 3rd yr now at UCD) who was #3 on the waitlist. Obviously she got in, so hopefully you will too!

Are you in state or out of state? When did you interview? Did they send you your status by email or snailmail?

Hey, 2 of us are declining already, just from this board! And there's the whole rest of the country to think about! If they only need 11 people to say no, I'd bet a whole lotta money that you'll get in. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

...However <small voice> I know someone who was in the same position as you (10 or 11 on the UCD alternate list) a few years ago and ended up 2nd on the waitlist when it all ended. Ouch!! <small voice>

So I finally got my rejection letter from Davis yesterday. I knew it was coming seeing as how I never interviewed with them. I don't understand what took so long for them to send it to me. They included a sheet with my information compared to the class that entered Fall 2006 and I was basically average. Hey, if I was equal to the students they already have, those of you that got in must be amazing. Congrats to all of you. Well, wish me luck that I will get off one of the waitlists I'm on. Minnesota, Purdue, Iowa or Louisiana, right now any school is the one I want.
