Paid practicums vary by region. Some areas it's impossible to get paid practicums, some it is easy.

With all do respect, I have never come across paid practicum. The practicum that I am doing now (21 hrs a week) at my local VA pay me a huge ZERO.

That's unfortunate. I had practicums ranging in compensation from $15 an hour to $50 an hour. I never had an unpaid practicum (I don't much like working for free).

In what city were your practicums?

splendid, this is something you can contact your graduate school directly about to see what sort of opportunities there are in your city. I remember this being a big selling point at some interviews- so schools def have the stats to back this up. Good luck!

The VA system does not pay practicum students (There is only one exception that I know of...a practicum in consulting).
