Hey guys, I got into a really good PTA program and I am also waiting to hear back PT schools. I've been wait-listed at multiple DPT programs and don't know if I will be hearing back. The PTA program will cost me $20,000 for 2 years.
I would like to get some opinions and viewpoints on whether I shouldI stick on with PT or go for PTA and save my money.

I think it comes down to whether you want

PT:
More documentation
Autonomy/ Creating the treatment plans/ Owning your own clinic
More career advancements (Director of Rehab)
Higher pay to debt ratio after 15 year mark.
Possibly better job security with the recently passed bill affecting PTAs

PTA:
Less documentation
More patient interaction
No autonomy/ Can't create treatment plans, Need to hire a PT if you want to start your own clinic.
Difficult for career advancement (Manager/Director/Owner opportunities are almost exclusively Filled by PT’s).
Higher pay to debt ratio before 15 year mark.
Less job security with the new 85% reimbursement from a PTA
