So I have ROTC camp from early June to early July this summer aka prime time for schools returning secondary apps. I know some schools have a two week cap on the return times. How should I go about informing the schools that my secondary prompts may be a bit delayed?

Also, I definitely plan on pre-writing and hoping the prompts don't change year to year.

You usually don't inform schools that secondaries will be delayed. I do not believe the two week rule is an actual rule, more so that it is a an unwritten rule among applicants. In order to show the most interest, you should really try your best to get them in in under two weeks. Like you said, pre write as many secondaries as you can, but find time during your ROTC camp. If you absolutely think you will have zero time to write secondaries, then you need to prioritize correctly and decide how much ROTC camp means to you. I think you can find time to write some secondaries though.

Lol

I'm in the woods for 14 days/30 days and don't have internet or computer access. Also, unfortunately, I don't get to choose if/when I go.

Oh and I saw some school's "require" receipt of secondary's within 10 days or so of sending it to you. As in it's on their admissions site and everything.

You should submit your primary to the schools that don't have the 10 day cap so that your app will get verified, and then add the school w/ that firm deadline later once you are back in civilization. That way you will for sure have computer access when you receive a secondary from that school.

Fwiw, I submitted all my secondaries quite late (5-6 weeks after receiving) and got IIs, so I don't think the 2 week cap is firm at most schools.

10 days seems really quick. I know some schools require secondary returns within 3-4 weeks though.

You don't HAVE to return secondaries within X amount of days (barring those with deadlines ofc). I think it's better to spend extra time to construct good secondary essays as opposed to a rushed response that doesn't help you out. That worked for me anyway, and I received IIs.
