Hi Everyone,
I am planning on taking a masters degree during my gap year, I was just wondering if a pass/fail masters degree is acceptable to dental school admissions? passing as usual meaning B+
I asked the school if I were to receive an A for my course would it still show up on my transcript and they said it wouldn't since its just a pass/fail school. I am sort of leaning towards this school because it is affordable and I can keep my job with their schedule. But I wouldn't want to waste my time or money if dental schools don't find it acceptable.
I have googled, called, and emailed a whole bunch of people and school, no one seems to know any helpful answers. If you guys don't know the answer and know someone or an institution that might have an answer, I would be glad to get in contact with them.

Thanks for the help guys! Really appreciate it.

Edit- I am not doing it for a GPA raise but again I dont want anything to hurt my chances when applying to the school

sounds like you're setting yourself up for disappointment. the point of a masters program is for dental schools to see improvement in your grades. they want to see As (for the most part). my opinion is to not go to this grad school, especially given how competitive d school admission is getting these days

Did you talk to people in dental school admissions at these schools? I can't imagine them giving anything other than a direct yes or no on this one. It seems like a fairly obvious no.

Here's a video of a bunch of adcom heads laughing at the prospect of getting an online masters, advising that you do better than a B, and take a science-based masters:

(It's worth watching the whole thing, and part #1. Those guys are awesome.)

Are you doing this program to bring up your GPA?
If so, then I think P/F curriculum could only hurt.
If not (i.e. your GPA is 3.5+), then it doesn't really matter.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I'm not doing it for a GPA raise, I just need to secure a degree from which I can earn a reasonable living, because a Bachelors in Bio is doing NOTHING for me. I'm getting job offers that pay $10-15 an hour with it. I'm just trying to make sure that doing this wont hurt my chances of getting into dental school. This degree is my back up career which I just happen to be starting early on. I don't understand how this could hurt me.

I see. I probably should have worded differently when I said "P/F curriculum could only hurt." I meant that if you were doing it for a GPA raise, it would do you no good. It certainly would not hurt.

My verdict:

Go for it!
